In short: This was my first marathon - so I was a bit apprehensive at the start. There is a nice mix of urban and rural scenery. The few miles along the river between miles 20 and 24 were a little quiet but the marshals offered encouragement.
In full: I like this race for the variety it offered, undulating, town and country roads and pathways. I found the paths through the country park tough pscychologically and was amused by the total disinterest of the shoppers in the city centre! The sight of runners who had already finished hobbling down the last mile was a strange motivator, their calls of encouragement drove me on!

In short: Good city half marathon with potential for PB
In full: 3rd time I have done the event and it's the 2nd time that I have done the half. Good flat run through Leicester excellent potential for a PB, I managed a good time for me. Well marshalled, good drink station and I particularly liked the long sleeved tee-shirt at the end. Will be doing it again.

In short: Well organised with encouraging marshals and spectators
In full: A reasonably flat route through the countryside. Marshals very encouraging and plentiful. Local support in villages too. Finish uphill was not welcome but the crowd lining the finish stretch was very encouraging to us slow 'uns,

In short: A great first marathon opportunity
In full: Well organised and a good turn out. Course tougher than expected and the final mile uphill was particularly tough.

Happy to do again next year.

In full: Did the full 26.2 miles and if it wasn't for the residents of the villages, the spectator turnout was disapppointing!!! The course took us through the main Leicester shopping centre (25 miles), with shoppers looking at you like you had 3 heads, felt bit strange!!! Mega hill at 25-26 miles. Water stations were well placed, every 3 miles, but organisers, please water in bottles, not plastic cups, you wear more than you drink!!! Has the potential to be very good run, if more sponsorship. At end no atmosphere, usually tents/organised things for the family to do, make a day of it, but nothing. Agree half marathon much better!!! I did well, 3.13.29 got an elite time, however felt whole marathon could have been more of an atmosphere!!!!

In short: varied route, top stewards and facilities, 3,000 runners says it all
In full: no mile the same, wet sponges, ideal weather, enough runners never to be lonely and the feeling this could turn into something big with a sponsor on . well done LOROS

In short: Enjoyed the race, course was a combination of country park and City. Organisation on the day very good but poor prior to the race (pack not received until Friday before). Chip times not available until 3 days afterwards which is too slow.

In short: Work in Leicester so new what was coming, good route apart from the last 2 miles shoping center and hills not a good combo. There should be different medals for the full and the half
