In short: Great countryside ramble with some killer hills
In full: 'Phew - what a scorcher!'
It's a long, tough and very hilly race (watch out for the killer hill on 8? miles - what sadist put that there?) and the hot day turned it into pure punishment. Loved it!
Well organized and the Somerset countryside was glorious.

Good T-shirt but maybe a medal like the juniors got would have been nice.

In short: If you knew about this race you'd run it...
In full: ...not for the faint hearted. 9 miles (with 1450ft elevation). This year was made even more challenging following the freak floods experienced 2 days before making Crewkerne national news - mud, debris and a foot deep mud filled 20 metre ford at 7 miles.

Many thanks to the marshalls and abundant water stations round the route.

One improvement could be a cake stall at the finish - I'd rather give my money to a local charity than Somerfields!

In short: A good honest race.
In full: A race that keeps you honest, a good scattering of hills to ensure you work hard all through the race. A good number of well placed water stations helped as the temperature slowly rose as the race progressed to end up with the competitors finishing in sunshine. A T-Shirt, banana and drinks at the finish with a well used PA System giving out names of the finishers - nice touch.
In all a well organised local race at a slightly unusual distance. I'm sure we'll be there again next year to see if the male and female team prize can be won for the third time in succession.

In short: A classic: friendly, nice scenery not to be missed
In full: Apparently there were problems with the fastest runners but in the middle of the field everything went as smootly as ever. Lots of support along the course, plenty of drink stations. Great race.
