In short: Not impressed: despite many e.mails and an sae no promised results or certificates not even a reply
In full: Very disappointed with organisation - did anyone manage to get reults for the marathon? Sent a great many e.mails to a number of addresses, even posted an sae but didn't receive a single reply, not even an acknowledgement. Very bad - not impressed.

In short: Great 15 miler...hats off to all those who did the marathon...maybe next year?
In full: Longest race yet, so a PB guaranteed; was aiming for around 2 hours and got 1:58:20 (my stop watch timing).
The route has some great scenery and some real challenges; the hill at the back of Kingston springs to mind.
The organisation is smooth and low key; everything works as it should and does so without causing a fuss.
Being a local and having run sections of the course in training, directions out on the route are a little hard to comment on. Suffice to say that at one point I did have to call out to runner who had gone off in the wrong direction; at the bottom of the next hill she promptly overtook me and I never quite caught her up again...there's gatitude for you! :-)

In short: Marathons don't come tougher than this one!
In full: Forget your PB and be glad to simply finish. Well run water stations with biscuits and fruit, but far apart. Taking your own water is a must. Very few marshalls, they rely on directional arrows, but do take the map along. Other than that, fantastic scenery dominates and it will probably be your most covetted medal.

In short: Fabulous apart from a few missing arrows that meant stopping and reading the instructions regularly was essential. Otherwise great!

In short: Fantastic event. Attractive scenery, great support from the organisers, challenging course, and hot temparatures to really test
In full: Another race up there with Beachy Head, NDR, and White Peaks in terms of scenery, organisation and challenge terrain. The only blot was the very hot temparature which really drained you and made finishing an achievement. Hope to return next year to exorcise this year's watch-time although enjoyment as an event is the main thing.

In short: It was one of the most difficult races I have ever done and one of the worst times imaginable but the scenery was out of this world, but as the race was organised by the British Red Cross using a system of red arrows for markers this caused problems.

In short: Organised as a walk that also accomadates runners - excellent course and organisation - the race almost died after 2003 but has been rescued.
