In short: The start was too late in the day. Weather very hot and lack of support for this.

In short: My first Half - a great day out (apart from the heat!)
In full: Really enjoyed it. I thought it was very well organised with plenty of water stops. Energy drinks would have been good though. An earlier start might help with the weather. And a plea - free parking for runners!

In short: Good first race
In full: My first half-marathon and I was very impressed, good atmosphere and well organised. Could have done with it starting a bit earlier though.

In short: First-time 1/2 ... no complaints at all (apart from having to run).

In short: Good race, well marshalled and gret scenery
In full: Thoroughly enjoyed the day. Rather nasty prolonged incline at around 8 miles but otherwise an easy course. Weather was very hot (Damn those weather forecasters who forecast rain and thunder!). Water stops were OK but the conditions empahsised the need to take time to re-hydrate - stop running and get a few good glugs of water in!

In short: First time Half Marathon
In full: My expectations were low as a newbie. Great atmosphere, and nice venue for the race.

There where a couple of steep hills, a nasty dirt track and insufficient & inadequate refreshment stops. Plus, after running 13 miles for the first time in my life, I didn't appreciate the old dear who said "you are only allowed on bottle of water" as I crossed the finishing line.

Nice medal though ;)

In short: Well organised and friendly race, but the 1 o'clock start is too late in the day.
In full: The atmosphere was good at the start and finish. I didn't enjoy the two laps or the very steep decline which you had to do twice; that really did my knees in. Only providing water was disappointing, it means you need to load yourselfup with gels or other drinks.

In short: Great day for a run. Just cool enough to be comfortable.
In full: If it had been a truly hot day, water would not have been enough along the course. Should have sport drinks along the way and more than water and a banana at the end. However, still a very positive experience.

In short: The start time of 1.00pm and the first very hot day of the year made the race very tough. I would not run again until they start earlier.

In short: Well organised but too hot!
In full: Would prefer an earlier start. Perhaps more likely to do the half than full in future
