In short: guaranteed to be windy but an entertaining event In full: This was my first time at this event and it's certainly not like any others. The battle into the wind certainly made me question my choice of fancy dress, I might go for something a little more streamlined next time. It's a good fun event with little likelihood of a pb depending on your choice of fancy dress and the weather on the day. Nice T shirt and mince pies for after. Good organisation and plenty of loos. In short: Flat, cold and hard on the calves In full: This was my first Christmas cracker. I normally go for trail or fell races but decided to give this one a go as the idea of a flat race before the festive season sounded a doddle. Big mistake. Do not underestimate how hard it is to run the first section into a head wind on damp sand. My calves were screaming at me after 2.5 miles. The course was in essence a loop based around an out and back format. For a trail runner the environment was quite dull and featureless - so I found it harder to hold my focus than on a training run. I enjoyed going past Tropicana though as it took me back to my youth! Bravo to the 1600 folk who had various degrees of fancy dress. I can only begin to imagine how cold the bloke in the grass skirt felt. Onesies are the new running fancy dress perhaps? That aside, despite my grumbles about the race being boring, and the going tough I did get a PB. The organisation worked like clockwork and the club clearly put in a huge amount of effort. The creche was bonza. A very nice touch. Date of review: December 17, 2013
In short: Loved it! Hope to be back next year In full: This was my first ever 10k race. I thought it was well organised from entering through to picking up my chip from the College, lining up at the start line and all the way to the mince pie at the end.
A very well marshalled course made the incredible head wind on the beach a little bit easier with their encouragement. I was really impressed with the marshals throughout the course.
I really hope to be able to do it again next year - I really enjoyed myself! Well done Weston AC! Date of review: December 16, 2013
In short: Great Fun In full: My 1st Cracker and I will definately be back next year. Superb organisation from start to finish. Queue for ladies was not to bad. It was however very very windy and cold and at points I am sure I was being pushed backwards. Brilliant atmosphere and a PB, thanks to the 3 men who allowed me to run with them and that helped me achieve it. Thanks Weston AC x Date of review: December 10, 2012
In short: This really is one of the best organised and fun races around In full: Great race again and I was only watching my wife. Very windy conditions but more than made up by this charming race and it's faultless organisation and location. Date of review: December 10, 2012
In short: I love the Cracker! In full: Love this race in my hometown. It's cold waiting about at the beginning but what a great atomosphere. Excellent value for money with the long sleeved t-shirt, not to mention the mince pie, at the end. Have already started thinking about how to top this year's Kiss outfits! In short: Lots of fun! In full: A really well organised race, nice marshals, great t-shirt. I had forgotten how tricky running on the beach was, but it all adds to the enjoyment! Date of review: December 11, 2011
In short: I didn't know Santa could run! In full: I really enjoyed this race today. The lengths people had gone to with their fancy was amazing and really made the atmosphere great. I felt that the organisation was really good, clockwork has nothing on it! All in all a really good day and a PB to boot :-) Date of review: December 11, 2011
