In short: Tough hill at start!
In full: I did this last year too but the hill seemed steeper this year! Tires your legs but is a great run along scenic routes. Good atmosphere. Lots of parking. £1 for charity is nothing to moan about! Got free cake and good fun for the family.

In short: A special race
In full: My 5th consecutive year of running this race, and it is still one of my favourite events of the year. Great organisation and marshalling thanks (though only one sit down toilet for the blokes?). Love the feel to this event, with the bouncy castle (free!), tombola (kids won bottle of champagne!), BBQ (family made use of after the race, sat on our picnic rug in the sun), cakes and beer (didn't indulge).

Love the fact that my children can take part in the safe, around park, 3k (or the short dash if you have younger children). Would have preferred this to have started slightly later as I missed the start, which didn't happen last year. I was in no rush to leave the event, but maybe people are keen to get on with things and get home again.

Found it quite tough this year. Discovered at start that my Garmin battery was depleted so ran the course 'blind'. Thought I was being slow, but got a course record for me. I have got faster every year since I started in 2006. Can't go on for ever!

Thanks to everyone. Will be there next year again if I am free.

In short: Low hassle low cost great run
In full: It is great just to turn up, warm up and run with no 'pressure'. Being quite local and having run before was prepared for the hill but seismic activity in the area since last year seemed to have made it even steeper and longer. How people can moan about £1 for parking for charity I do not understand. I really enjoy this event.

In short: Lovely 10k with none of the usual furious elbowing at the start! Great family atmosphere
In full: Really good race - helped by the gorgeous weather, supportive marchalls & friendly runners. Fantastic for the rest of the family too with bouncy castle, cake stalls and beer tent. Only complaint is its Tuesday and still no results?!

In short: Mean hill, but scenic and lovely marshalls
In full: Dont let the hill st the start put you off it doesn't go on forever! Marshalls were great, sunny, countryside only downside was some of the the mad Sunday morning car drivers. Big plus was that my 13yr old won the 3K. Hurrah

In short: Up, around and back down.....
In full: Great race - thanks to the organisers. Some of the cars on the course were a bit reckless. Driver of silver Avensis estate 52 plate should be hung upside down and have a thousand running shoes thrown at him...

In short: A feel-good event
In full: Arrived early for EOD - bit shocked at £1 parking but was a winner for the charity. Lovely family atmosphere. Loos were for the brave (yikes) - but I made 3x visits! What a hill on during that 1st K, but what a joy at 9k+. Managed a respectable 63mins (I think). Great free post run stretch. Thank you. GMx

In short: Great local race and always sunny!
In full: Well organised, friendly race in very scenic surroundings. Good 'festival' atmosphere, and what better way to wait for the presentations than sitting in the sun with a hot dog in hand and supping a pint of Rebellion! Very slow this year mind....
