In short: Love the new course and weather, same next year please ;-)
In full: I always look forwards to this race as it means that the Cross Country season isn't too far away. It has always provided a good mix of speedy and tough off road conditions and this year was no exception because of the new course, especially the new gravel path section from 3/4 mile and the murderous climb up to Randall Heath at around 3.5 miles.

The recent wet weather meant that it was more like a traditional XC race than an end of summer trail race, bring it on!

In short: Very muddy but great fun
In full: Great course, bit narrow at the start but not too many bottle necks as the field is quite small. Great fun. Very muddy. I will be back next year.

In short: Challenging terrain particularly when wet (2008), hills will test most road runners. Well worth a go!

In short: Great hilly course with beautiful scenery
In full: I was very nervous before this race mainly as some of my club were teasing me about Cardiac Hill. Once I started and got past the first mile, I really enjoyed the challenging terrain from 2 to 3.5 miles. Once Cardiac Hill was past me I really got into my stride and found much to my delight that I got a personal best. Fantastic time, next year I plan to bring a few of the club. Well done

In short: well organised, friendly, v challenging course!
In full: congrats to all involved for organising and marshalling an excellent race. really friendly marshalls who were encouraging without being OTT. Having run the 3 Joydens Woods races this year i'd had good hill training and was pleasently surprised at how relatively easy Cardiac Hill was. But those hills at the end were quite tough. Back next year to go for sub 40 mins.
