In short: This very friendly event deserves support
In full: First time at this event, I understand that it used to bring in elite runners and attract a large field and that this was the relaunch as a new, less slimmed down event. Even so , a good 350 plus runners turned up and enjoyed excellent support from a large number of very enthusiastic marshals. The event retains a lot of good, local sponsors and dserves to continue to succeed, even without the big names. THe course is not the most wonderful in the world involving a lot of short climbs and a two lap run round the town centre , including the entry road to the local Morrisons. The section through the Bishop of Durham's palasce makes up somewhat. On a challenging route, even after a fall in the first 200 metres , I still managed a time between 42 & 43 minutes - forgot to check my watch on crossing the line.

In short: I'll see you next year - hopefully another PB
In full: First time for me and was surprised at the good turn out. Really enjoyed it, knocked 3 minutes off my PB and best of all beat my mate for the first time!!

In short: enjoyable
In full: I managed a PB despite tripping over a discarded water bottle at the end of the first lap and aggravating my ankle injury. The organisation of this race is excellent, all the marshalls were cheerful and encouraging, even the police were egging the runners on which I thought was great. Race started dead on time and everything went like clockwork.

In short: Not one for PB's but a great atmosphere and a chance to run with some quality elite athletes - or at least stand on the start line with them! Nice finish at the castle.
