In short: Killer hill but still managed a PB In full: Love this race. Great course. Well run. Shame about a goodie bag with nothing to eat in it. Minor I know but we all like something to eat after a race. Date of review: October 16, 2011

In short: Even better second time around In full: I entered this last year so knew what to expect from that hill and ran accordingly and actually managed a PB beating my 2011 Reading tim (although I'd still say Reading is a quicker course but I'm in the middle of marathon training now).
Well organised, pleasant scenery, clearly marked course, plenty of drink stations, good support. The course profile provides a different challenge to most races with such a monster hill but otherwise so flat, gives the race its own character.
Only slightly negative comment is that it is quite narrow for much of the first 7 miles (almost up to the hill) which means you are are not really able to run your own race especially with no time indicators at the start. Speaking to a marshall afterwards she said they were down on entrants from last year but I wouldn't want it to be much busier as I was constantly having to run off the main track to overtake people or just sit behind them and wait. In short: Great Race In full: got a new PB even with the gruelling climb of the hill. Other than that very flat course, and a good mix of road, gravel and grass. good fun!!! Date of review: October 10, 2011

In short: excellent organisation. In full: very well organised, with friendly marshalls, and toilets a plenty. the coarse itself was enjoyable, a nice combo of town and country, oh and who put that hill there, it seamed never ending. still what goes up must come down. and the down hill that followed was a bit of relief. this was my 31st of 40 half marathons this year, and have to say its right up there. well done henley. In short: So many different surfaces In full: I enjoyed this race and the organisation was fine. I thought parking / traffic might be a nightmare but it all worked out well.
I was surprised how much of this course is what I would call off-road. Running on slim gravel tracks & grass for maybe 3-4 miles?? So not PB material.
However a nice countryside run with a blingey medal at the end! Date of review: October 10, 2011

In short: A very hard half marathon and not one for getting a pb in given the large hill and large amount og grassy Date of review: October 10, 2011
