In short: unimaginative route, good water stations, friendly marshals
In full: I never enjoy the out and back routes, and with a 1km race for kids that went 500m out, and 500m back complete with toddlers crashing into each other I was unimpressed with the route. That said it is nice countryside, just let me see some! The finishing funnel was non-existent and the microphone lady sounded like she was just telling the timekeeper the race numbers instead of cheering the runners in. aside from the teething problems the t-shirt is ok, and the atmosphere was child friendly. With so many races on that weekend next year I'll find a more exciting race. This race was made by a school, not runners, and it shows.

In short: Enjoyable 10k
In full: I haven't run this event for several years but I thoroughly enjoyed today's 10k. It's a good road run, out and back with some nice hills. Organisation is good, adequate number of marshalls, t-shirt and medal, and a nice cup of tea at the end.

In short: Race was short this year
In full: Annoyed that the course was short this year. I got a big PB (and would have still have got a PB if the course had been correct) but can't count it as the course was only 9.9 Km. Compared the gpx file from my Garmin with those of previous year's races, and the turn around point was at the wrong place and 50 m earlier that it has been in the past. Otherwise was a good race, nice cakes, a medal and a nice T-shirt.

In short: Friendly race, well organised, nice local pub
In full: I was so hot and giddy that I didn't know my own name by the time I reached the finish line. Surprised that I didn't see anyone in a heap beside the road, but lots of water stations probably helped avoid any serious problems. Some nice challenging hills (short and steep and long and slow), and anyone looking forward to the long downhill on the return would have been as disappointed as I was - both times I have done this race there has been a fierce headwind. Looking forward to next year and hopefully it will rain (sorry organisers - only joking!!).

In short: Excellent local race
In full: Recovering from today's Manuden 10k. Not much of a fun run as it's the hottest I've ever run in. Thankfully the organisers had 4 water stations (2 in reality but after 5k you turn back).

A bit packed at the start but the hill at 1k soon spreads the field. The lane to Rickling Green is a nice challenge with views across fields.

When you include a medal & a t-shirt it makes for a bargain of a race. Nice selection of cakes at the school, only downside was that there was no bag drop facility.

Our most local race & a splendid one at that.

In short: Great race!!
In full: £10 to enter which has been one of if not the cheapest race I've entered this year. Well signposted to get to the carpark and signing up was straight forward.
The first half a milometer you are fairtly penned into a narrow road but it soon opens and people spread out onto a beautiful route which came back on itself after 5k which was great as the many water stops given were needed due to the heat. Roughly 150ft rise in the opening hill was a great awakening to the race.

Well marshalled and no traffic issues.

Will definatly run again!

T-Shirt, bottle of water and medal for finishing.

In short: Excellent village event, challenging but the great scenery and the atmosphere makes up for it.
In full: Great run, but quite hilly so you are not going to run a personal best. Well organized and you are made to feel welcome by runners and organisers alike.
Not sure about the previous comments regarding time keeping. Everyone I have spoken to has confirmed that their time matched that on the website and my time was accurate.
Run it and enjoy it!
