In short: Hills! In full: Nice race in a nice park, although done on roads footpaths it's certainly not one for PB's with a steep hill just after 1k/6k and another little one through an estate. Well organised and nice T-shirt although could probably do with more toilets! Date of review: April 27, 2015
In short: Good but no stopping please In full: Although I live in Liverpool now, this is my hometown and the last time I ran was at school in the dreaded cross country,30 years ago,so I wanted to really enjoy this race, on the plus side, it a well organised race, good parking,Marshalls and overall experiance on the negative we had to stop at a bridge and queue and lack of toliets Would I race again, possibly for £12 you got a decent T-Shirt and a decent run, my two children 5 + 1.5 enjoyed the fun run ..just re-think the course ..possibly Date of review: April 27, 2015
In short: Route could be better In full: The route contains some single file steps which ensure all runners stop dead for upwards of a minute while the queue goes down. Worth stopping your watch at this point and resuming once you start again. Lengthly flat roads and two decent hills. PB potential without the hills but a good race. Date of review: April 26, 2015
In short: Nicely organised event In full: Well sorted event. They've clearly been doing this for a while now and it all went off pretty much like clockwork.
The only reason that I'd consider not coming back is because of the hill(s). I do train on some 'up and down' routes but the climb up Spooky Hill on lap two is not something that I'm sure I want to sign up for again.....
Big thumbs up for all of the marshals who were clearly enjoying themselves and their enthusiasm definitely is/was appreciated.
Final nit-pick - It's not a big thing at all but is it just me that prefers tee-shirts that bear a date - even just the year - of the event? Looking at the tee-shirts given over the last few years at this event it seems like I may be in a minority as none seem to have been 'time-stamped' in the past either........oh well.
