In short: Challenging hills but loved it
In full: Really enjoyable morning at Alice Holt forest in the sunshine. Had no idea of the 10k course having signed up a week previously after picking up a flyer at Basingstoke parkrun. Was a bit shocked by the undulating nature of the course initially and the hill btwn 4-5k that we did again at 8-9k! Having said that is was a brilliant run, scenic and traffic free.

Loved seeing the 3k and 1k kids races going off a little later. Would be a great family morning out in future.

In short: An excellent family day out in beautiful surroundings. Well organised with a good mix of abilities. I managed to get a PB on this one, happy customer.

In short: Was scared stiff, but managed a personal best!
In full: I ran the 5k at this event as part of a warm-up to my first-ever 10k event a month later. I was feeling very nervous indeed as I had heard nasty things about the hills (as well as reading reviews on here about previous years’ races). However, I really didn’t need to worry. Despite the hills (and one really nasty one that I did walk up), I actually managed a personal best time for the 5k race. The event is very well organised, very friendly and my 7 year old loved taking part in the 1k kids’ race (there’s also a 3k for older children and a 60m dash for the little ones – they all get medals and goodie bags). Am definitely going next year and might even think about the 10k! Even if you are a semi-beginner like me, I would definitely recommend it. Perhaps not a race for the absolute beginner but once you’ve got 2-3 5ks/10ks respectively under your belt, go for it!

In short: Enjoyable run
In full: 2nd year and enjoyed this one round - managed to do the hill twice without stopping and the sponges at the water points are a saving grace - challenging course as it undulates and twists and turns a lot - very satisfying to do

In short: good event, everything there (except a photographer)
In full: Photographer, town crier and web-entry would be good.
Great setting, plenty of hills, toilets, marshalls, refreshments, sponge/water stations ...
I commend it !

In short: Tough hills, attractive forest trails, friendly atmosphere
In full: A well-organised run with a family-friendly atmosphere. Rather crowded over the first 1k (the 5k and 10k races started together) and the course is all up and down, so don't plan on a pb.

In short: a good trail 10k, worth getting out of bed for.
In full: quicker course than expected, not far off PB. plenty of slow uphills and fast downhills. great route, hitting the big hill twice. I'm sure the 9k marker was closer to 8.7k. Otherwise a very good race.
more port-a-loos definately required for next year.

In short: Good race, organisation, setting, trail, ample water stations. BUT! shocking on the day pricing of up to £17 and c'mon guys, 4 portaloo's for some 600+ ladies, you should be ashamed!
In full: I'd do it again but given the cost of the race versus the basics of toilets etc. I'd have to question if some 'advantage' was being taken here.

In short: Great Family day at the races
In full: Well organised - nice site to hold a run.
I did the 10K, my two kids the 1K and loved it - great introduction to running for both of them.

Would love that up hill bit at 4K and 9K moved though - that is just mean!

Run was followed by time to play in the adventure playground - an excellent day out for the family - thanks to the organisers
