In short: A fast field of mostly club runners on a flat 3-lap course In full: Good value - not many 10k races that cost a fiver to enter; this one was well-organised - no chip timing but not necessary; there were under 200 entrants and the officials had a good system going at the end. Great race for a PB, though the slightly longer first lap due to the positioning of the start line makes you wonder what you're letting yourself in for before lap 2 comes blessedly into sight. In short: Mainly club runners In full: Quite a bit of tree covering so GPS probably not to be trusted - I measured it to be nearly .1 of a mile short. Date of review: September 5, 2011

In short: Club-oriented race over a nice flat course In full: This race was over the same course as the Pride 10k, which was held a few weeks before. My Garmin measured the course as slightly over the 10k but I assume it has been properly measured at some point, and GPS is never 100% accurate. The start of the race is over a km from the clun house and toilets and a few runners missed the start as a result. The course has one long straight then three laps, with a water station positioned so you pass it three times, which is helpful. This seemed to be largely a clun run (though there were plenty of unattached runners) and the event reflected this - smooth organisation but no bells and whistles i.e. no medal or goody bag but well marshalled and more water and a banana at the end. In short: Very flat but questionable measurement In full: Nice & flat but my GPS showed 120m+ over 10k. That's the second time I've done this & same both times & I'm pretty good at running the shortest route, most races I do my GPS is extremely close to the actual distance. Would like to see them re-measure this. Date of review: September 4, 2011

In short: Please get the km markers right In full: One of the best pb courses in London. However this is the second race this year that has spoilt my day by getting the km markers in the wrong spots. There is nothing more demoralising than believing you are running at a good speed and then finding your watch to show the slowest 10k km in years. People with GPS watches were suggesting markers were inaccurately placed.

In short: A high running standard, yet good for beginners. In full: A very flat, well marked out route on wide paths through the park. 3 laps left plenty of room for encouragement from family and friends. As a relative newcomer to running i certainly didn't feel unwelcome, although being lapped by the 20 or so front runners was a new experience! Free bananas at the end for refuelling - overall a good race. Date of review: September 5, 2010

In short: Good simple race In full: I would agree with most of the other comments here. This is an unfussy race with a straightforward fast course. Standard of running was very high: which is great to keeping you going. Race was well organised and friendly. If you are feeling in PB form this is a good race to try. In full: Nice gentle sunday morning race. Slightly daunting lining up with so many club runners but it spurred me on to try and beat my p.b and I did by 3 mins so I was really pleased.
Race was very relaxed, got chatting to a couple of other runners on the way to the start and found the whole event very friendly. Marshalls were encouraging, good to see markers every km which really helped me timing. Definitely coming back next year! Date of review: September 7, 2009
