In short: Seriously tough race but what an event In full: Fantastic event. Great atmosphere from all the excellent marshals. Great camaraderie from all the runners as everyone seems to know what a tough challenge this is. Main objective, finish! Don't even think about a target time. That said, great course, great views (if you can pick your head at the start), great support up that final hill. Organisation was superb. I'll deffo be back next year Date of review: January 18, 2015
In short: Mudtastic! In full: A great race: lots of support, first class marshalling with a real variety of terrain. My favourite parts were the beginning and the end, sliding round the mudpit that was Hadleigh Park. The last mile was seriously tough: all uphill, with what can only be described as a mud wall in the final 200m! The middle section of the race was pretty flat, mostly along grass or gravel/rock track with the occasional stretch on pavement. Particularly grateful for the frequent jelly baby stations. Thoroughly recommended. Date of review: January 18, 2015
In short: Really muddy but really fun! In full: I think the most enjoyable event I have taken part in for a number of reasons. 1. Really well organised with marshalls positioned very frequently along the whole course. 2. Challenging course made the race more about finishing rather than trying to achieve a set time so for me that made things more relaxed and enjoyable. 3. Great selection of cakes and rolls at the end, if only more events were like this! Date of review: January 23, 2014
In short: Insane Hills. Insame Mud. Insanely good fun. In full: Have variously heard this described as 'brutal', 'epic' and 'hellish'. It is all of those things and much much. This was probably both the most challenging and the most fun running event I have ever taken part in. I'll be back next year for more of the same. Perhaps the best word, then, is 'Superb'! In short: Tough, Muddy, Hilly, Fun! In full: This is a great event that is well organised by Benfleet running club. The organisation is impressive, and the marshalls are fantastic offering great support and encouragement along the route. But, this is a tough course with a number of steep hilly sections, and due to the wet winter there was lots of mud and waterlogged grassy areas. Don't let that put you off, whilst it is tough it is very enjoyable and leaves you with a great sense of achivement upon finishing. Date of review: January 22, 2014
In short: Brutal but still buzzing! In full: Wow, crossing the line at the B15 was one of my most proudest moments! Like soldiers in battle anyone who was there will just know what we ran through, hailed as tougher than a marathon, if you do this you're hardcore! Date of review: January 22, 2014
In short: Epic race with killer finish In full: What a great race! Excellent organization, fantastic marshals, challenging but fun coursse. It was my second B15, this time in completely different conditions to last year's snow, but I loved every mile. Just the right mix of terrain, lots of mud, tough hills, and a few flat sections to catch a breather (or overtake a few runners in front:-)). Be warned, the last mile is a killer, constant climb, some of it in slippery mud. Definitely a firm fixture in my yearly racing calendar! Date of review: January 21, 2014
In short: An amazing challenge! Well worth it! In full: I have seldom found crossing a finish line so satisfying! This race was an incredible challenge with lots of tough hills, a final mile that had to be experienced to be believed and more mud than I thought was possible!
Organisation seemed very good, excellent marshaling and drink stations round the course and a really nice finisher t-shirt.
It's probably the hardest race I've ever tried...and I can't wait to try it again next year! Date of review: January 21, 2014
