In short: Muddy, cold, fun and friendly
In full: The mud made last year's event seem like a walk in the park! Really great fun, just bring a massive coat and some clean shoes and socks for after. A hot bath never felt so good!
Although tough fitness wise, the cycling isn't that technical so it's a great off-road duathlon for a novice (like me!)

In short: If you like racing through pure bogs, then this ones for you!
In full: Raced here yesterday, and it was tougher than i expected. The first 2.5mile run was fine, then cam the 7.5mile bike through deep mud and sludge which made it interesting and enjoyably tough, then a 4.5 mile run through said sludge! Great fun but make sure you bring a change of clothes!

In short: Great way to start the year
In full: Hard, cold and muddy......just the way an off road duathlon should be. Thanks to the marshalls for braving the weather and providing much needed encouragment along the way.

In short: Always very well organised and marshalled, but ground conditions are hugely weather dependent so can be mudbath!

In short: Brutal! Thick, sticky, gloopy mud for 9 miles on MTB and 4.5miles on foot. Hard going!
In full: Great event! Stupidly arrived expecting a better time than last year (when it was sunny and dry!) and went away a broken man. Fast run on the promenade to start, then all hell lets loose. Foot deep mud for half the 9 mile course, no chance to 'free-wheel', it is full on for the whole thing. Then, with no energy left in the legs, it's another 4.5miles on foot in that mess. BRUTAL!
