In short: great day In full: Really enjoyed this race. Knee had a bit of a wobbly through the tunnel don't know why but after a couple of starts and stops set off and all was ok. thank you to the lady runner who offered to get a marshall for me really kind of you thanks. It was a challenging race as most of the 2nd half of the race is up hill scenery around Ironbridge was really lovely. Marshalls and organisers thank you for all your hard work Best of luck for the future x Date of review: March 18, 2011

In short: Always good but better in reverse In full: I've done it 5 times now and the course in reverse made it different and more challenging. Great organisation and friendly marshalls. Only a couple of things mostly personal: don't like mementos, medals are better and could have done with some isotonic at least at one drinking station. Date of review: March 15, 2011

In short: Super race, and really friendly marshalls In full: Excellent race, and will be back next year. Marshalls really friendly and helpful. Once thing I would ask is more advance warning of the water stops. Date of review: March 15, 2011

In short: Good varied route, plenty of off-road/trails with some decent ups & downs. In full: Well-organised and friendly, good banter from the numerous well-placed marshals. The new route had a steeper section at a testing point (mile 8) which we were warned about at the start. A bit muddy and slippery in places. All in all great fun unless you were chasing a PB. In short: Third year of this race but felt this year was missing something and the reversal of the route was testing In full: The rain didnt help this year as paths were very muddy but that aside - the start was good and most marshalls were very good but 1 or 2 were not very possitive to us slower runners ! A very challenging route especially the extra loop by the bridge and the hill at mile 8 - 9. In all a good race but this year it was missing something - Oh and the Beenie hat is great Date of review: March 14, 2011

In short: Really enjoyed this - despite that hill In full: First time at Ironbridge. Was doing really well up to 8 miles and was on time for my second fastest half, but THAT hill took a lot out of me. Refused to walk it though!!!
Hope it hasn't taken too much out of me for the Stafford Half next week.
Loved the mucky tracks.
Marshalls were excellent and plenty of them too.
Missed a few of the mile markers though. Didn't see any up to 5 miles and then missed 9 and 10 and 12 too. Probably had my head down but was a nice surprise to suddenly find there were only 400 meters left. Date of review: March 14, 2011

In short: My local half, and I love it! In full: A very enjoyable & challenging run. What used to be a steady run down into Ironbridge and a steady incline back now has a killer twist which really tests your stamina for the last 4 miles or so. The organisers must have developed sadistic personalities by making us climb that hill and have to run back down. Soem have said it was pointless but this is just the thing a half marathon needs, and splashing through all the mud just added to the fun! Date of review: March 14, 2011

In short: Well Organised, Great Marshals but new route up Coalbrookdale gets my thumbs down. In full: My third time.Pluses: Entry fee, excellent friendly marshalling. Minus: I knew the route was in the reverse direction but was not expecting the new quiet killer steep-up-then-immediately-down Coach Road route at 8 miles, versus the usual steady parallel adjacent main Coalbrookdale Road route. Was the change down to dreaded Health and Safety - didn't do much for my mental Health ! :-) I suppose you wouldn't be expecting to do a PB on this route anyway. Date of review: March 14, 2011
