In short: Fast and flat, hope it's on again in 2010
In full: Very scenic out and back course along the Scarborough seafront. Great weather and a good flat running surface made for fast times.

In short: Brilliant Inaugral Race
In full: Barely noticed the cobbles, as long as you are not staring out to sea not a problem. Was lucky to get a cup at first water point as didn't bother with bottles which were not practicle. Atmosphere and crowds on a par with London Marathon but obviously a little thinner. Even kids at skate park were cheering. Great music from live bands as you ran. I'll be back!

In short: Such a feel-good race.
In full: Loved the scenery, found myself just daydreaming along as I ran. Found the cobbles tricky to navigate. Water bottles weren't great - found them a tad bulky to carry. More water stops, but with cups would've been better I think. Crowds were quite supportive though did feel slightly 'left out'; I finished in just over an hour, but had to weave in and out of some non-racing people as they crossed in front of me. I don't think they would've done that to the 'elite' (who really were super elite!), which is fine, but did feel a little like we were kind of not as important towards the back (which is sad, as it was my first run and was really tough!). Overall though, thought the organisation was fabulous. I loved the atmosphere, loved the other runners (very friendly) and I would definitely want to do it again!

In short: Fast paced race with many club runners. Flat but cobbles to negotiate around headland. T-shirt momento and shoppimg bag were a nice touch. Will be back in 2010!
