In short: I really enjoyed this race!
In full: This was a good race that was challenging with the wind. There was good parking and a huge hall to get ready in. The bag area was easy to find and very quick.

The course was really nice and I got a 3 min PB over my previous time set at the Thanet 10miler in December so very happy.

Good organisation and will do again next year. BUT....

I have to agree about the medal situation. This is hugely disappointing and not on given the entry price. I have no interest in a bag I will never use or a mug that will break. I want a medal that I can hang up and one day show to my grandchildren. Also, if you are going to give a bag then should you not put something in apart from a energy bar that other races have buckets full of for you to help yourself afterwards?

In short: A real momento would have been nice
In full: First time I run this course and found it really nice, challenging at times but just enough to keep you interested! I see a lot of people are commenting about the lack of medals and must agree, for such a steep entry of **£20** on the day, for an unaffiliated member who maybe run their very first race and getting no reward, no momento to keep or show to the family or friends it's a bit wrong. Even the bag was an attempt to self advertise Invicta Club rather than the race. I did a few other local 10m races and at least you got a nice technical top or £5 Sweatshop vouchers. I hope the organisers will listen to the feedbacks and take it on board for next year

In short: Great challenging 10 miler - pretty much do it every year. Certainly could do with some tweeks
In full: The course is really challenging - a proper 10 mile race - hills, scenic rural route. Not great value for money anymore. Think its popular because of its Kent GP status, as there is always a quality field.Prefer to get a mug! Probably will return as always looking to beat my previous times.

In full: I am 53 years old and can do without cheap medals and momentoes, not sure what people expect, it is the race that counts, and I thought that overall this is a fair course and well organised, the entry price was probably a bit high but contrary to popular myth it costs a lot of money up front to put on road races these days.Done it before and will undoubtedly be back again...

In short: Great scenery, but a few points
In full: Thanks to Invicta East Kent Athletics Club for organising this and to those who turned out on the day to help, especially the marshals, who gave up their time so we could enjoy the race.

The scenery was great and I really enjoyed the course though it was a bit wet, and a bit narrow not so much at the start but about half a mile in. The sun came out just about as the race started, which was excellent. The weather was warm for the time of year but windy in places.

I don't mind a mug or a medal, but wasn't keen on the bag.

A couple of minor points. We arrived early and the car parking was easy, with bays clearly marked. There were some areas, e.g. the tennis courts where marshals might have helped. Also the instructions asked people not to park on certain roads near the start as the race was die to take part. Maybe I missed them, but there seemed to be no signs or marshals on the day to help with this.

It's great to have a bag drop, but it would have been easier for those who had given up their time to do this if they had labels to stick on bags.

I prefer to get the race number and chip before hand, but I can see the advantage to the organisers in not posting them.

In short: Enjoyable winter race but vfm and other niggles need addressing
In full: A mixed bag... I ad low expectation of momento (experience from last year etc) and so wasn't disappointed. Apparent lack of "no headphones/music" rule enforcement a frustration - it's ok except when person is oblivious to you/others and it then becomes a safety concern - particularly on the tight stretches which bedevil this race at times. Minor point - I don't like putting my number on before the start - better to get it through the post so can arrive prepared. Re marshalling, excellent/efficient though rather muted. Well organised. Race is near to home for me otherwise probably wouldn't bother...see you next year. As I said, mixed bag...

In short: Call that a memento - really don't bother......
In full: Fully expect large queues for the toilets and the sports hall to be packed - given the weather. Was really disappointed with the race this year, not the organisers fault that weather had been bad, but totally there fault that they issued for a memento a bag that did not even have Canterbury 10 on it and a cereal bar - where was the medal.
To the people moaning about these wearing headphones - get a life, surely if someone enjoys running to music and it helps them they should be allowed to.
Have done this race the last 5 years, but don't think I'll bother next year - no medal/t-shirt/mug then no entrance fee from me.

In short: I've done this quite a few times over the last 20 years, and it's a good winter race. Quite cold today , and what with the bad weather recently my training seriously lost it's momentum, so I ended up with a pw for this event.
