In short: Great organisation and support,
In full: Despite the spring weather of about minus 3 the event was fun and friendly and the marshalling was excellent. Reasonably challenging route, didnt seem to be much flat!

In short: a great race that survived where others got cancelled
In full: a great effort by the total buzz events crew for getting this race on despite the weather and -3 windchill.nice start outside yeovil town fc's stadium and plenty of variety en route of hills, lanes, industrial estate, town centre and the king of the hill competition.very good support all the way around and the king of the hill competition was a nice side issue to complete.great marshalling and medal!

In short: My local race
In full: I enjoyed the Yeovil Half mainly as I got a PB. It was the biggest race I have ever done and it was good to see all the people out in the streets cheering us all on. The course has a lot of variety and I felt very safe all the way round. The stewards and Police done a good job!

In short: Good Half Marathon although route choices were questionable in areas
In full: Enjoyed this half marathon. The route was good down by the river and through some of the villages. Not so sure about the industrial estate near Westlands! Also running alongside busy roads was not much fun. King of the hill was good! Good support around the course. Various bands etc which was great. Organisation was good and the finish line atmosphere was fun.

In short: Very enjoyable event, good starting location
In full: I also expected this to be a bit of a disaster but am happy to eat humble pie. It was a very enjoyable race with a great atmosphere and quite a fast varied course. The pavements are undulating in places, but the marshalling was top notch (I also ran in the road for the worst parts.) The latter part of the course is very picturesque and the variety and town and country made it much more interesting.
Loads of toilets at the start - there were many more within the football ground for those who didn't just join the first queue!
One big complaint - from about mile 3 the mile markers were about a quarter mile out, and the course is short by about a tenth of a mile. Get it measured properly and this will be a top event.
The stadium is a great starting location for spectators as well.

In short: Although I was a bit dubious about there being no road closures and having to run on pavements it all seemed to go very well. A good first half marathon for Yeovil - Well done to the organisers!

In short: Well run and enjoyable first (and long overdue) Yeovil Half Marathon
In full: I found the whole race was well organised and contrary to other views didn't personally mind the number collection on the day. The queue moved quickly and efficiently. The particularly early start (due to clocks going forward) was an added challenge but a 9.00am start isn't as issue for me. A good mix of landscape and terrain (urban & rural)and some excellent support at key points along the way. I also did measure the course just short of 13miles. A bit of a shame about some of the narrow pavement sections but overall a good 1st Yeovil Half. I hope this event becomes a regular fixture and the organisers take on board feedback!
