In short: Another race for others to match In full: From the very start at the track you could feel this was a well organised event.Great scenery, fantastic, encouraging marshals(all the way around) and a non clubby friendly atmosphere - made for a race that stood out amongst the MANY others. There were a few sharp turns and steps to contend with I have to say. Also my Garmin reg the distance as 6.32ml NOT 6.1 So not ideal for PBs - And a medal instead of yet ANOTHER tshirt for the 10k would have been preferential( it wasnt the cheapest of 10ks around to choose from - but otherwise very nearly top marks for Pennington Flash 10k. :O) 8.5/10 Date of review: August 16, 2012

In short: Great fun In full: Thanks to the organisers who made this a great day out. Started on time with a really nice thought through route. I normally don't like doing laps, but the way in which we did partial laps made it very enjoyable. Plenty of water, friendly marshals and a nice t-shirt. Thanks Date of review: August 15, 2012

In short: Brilliant Saturday morning option. In full: The route was a pleasant and pleasing jaunt with a grandstand start and finish with the ever present MC making this run an all round worth the price trip. See you next year. Date of review: August 11, 2012

In short: Started well then went down hill fast (and not the course i hasten to say) In full: i found it 0.9 short aswell and tbh it was a bit dodgy underfoot along side the canal especially,it would of been a disaster if someone or myself has twisted their ankle 2 weeks before the vlm the organisation wasn't too bad the goody bag or should i say the leaflet bag was very poor and the majority of the marshalls wee like crash test dummies, and a severe lack of water stations one two be exact although you had to pass it twice. Not my cup of tea and sad to say i won't run it again

In short: Lovely scenic route around canals and lakes made up for high price and some poor organisation eg. no mile markers. In full: Really enjoyed the route with interesting twists and turns, and didn't even mind it being 2 laps, but a major mistake by the organisers was NO MILE MARKERS. Unbelievable. The 10k taking place at the same time had distance markers so why couldn't we ? Also don't know how the £20 fee is justified - if some of it went on the chip timing then runners are just paying to make the organisers life easier, in that they don't have to write down finishers munbers and times. In short: Marshalls brilliant, atmosphere & support good. Race seemed less than 13.1miles, not enough water stations, and £20 unafil a bit steep for what you get. In full: Really enjoyed the run. Seemed to be quite a lot shorter than a full half distance. 12.1miles on garmin. Only 2 water stations. A snack in goody bag and a medal instead of a t-shirt would've made me happier. Great for parking, nice clean facilities, fantastic staff and very encouraging marhsalls. PRobably wont do it again as wasn't local for me. Nice and friendly atmosphere and not v hilly.
