In short: Good tough race.
In full: Pros: Great challenging race on a nice course and a really good atmosphere.

Cons: A sleepy marshall let the first two runners head off in the wrong direction, it was only about twenty metres but still a bit annoying. Could have done with a couple of extra marshalls in certain places. The organisers made a bit of a joke about how very few people were at the presentation to pick up their prizes but the fact is it shouldn't have taken so long to start the presentation. Despite these minor gripes I thoroughly enjoyed the race!

In short: Tough!
In full: Pros: Enjoyable, muddy, wet, crazy

Cons: Could have done with another water station - 1 in a 10 mile race is harsh on the throat

Mile markers: Difficult to pace as there were none

I like a memento! I personally would not have minded paying a few quid more to have one....

In short: Mud, puddles, wind and a great race!
In full: If you enjoy a bit of a challenge on a Sunday morning then this is the race for you. The race terrain was true to its description of being undulating and for every short but steep up hill climb there was a decent downhill run immediately after. The very friendly race atmosphere coupled with good organisation and a high number of marshals made this event well worth the trip. The recent weather added to the fun with lots of mud and puddles and the wind came into play on the open hilly stretches. Although the course was tough in places it doesn't compare to the long hills encountered on the Buxton Half Marathon or the Shady Oak 10k in Whalley bridge. Overall I would recommend this race to anyone wanting a decent run without the hype of some of the big road races. I will definately be making the trip next year.

In short: Hills + Mud = Great fun!!!
In full: Really enjoyed myself, despite the wind. Fantastic marshalls (and loads of them too). Very friendly race with a feel-good atmosphere. Only thing I wasn't happy with was the bouncy bridge over the motorway....but thats just me being a wimp!!!!!

In short: Very muddy with some killer hills
In full: Difficult race. The rain from the past few days made the course very muddy. Windy in places as well which made some of the hills difficult. Well marshalled and sign posted.
