In short: My result was horribly wrong In full: I'm afraid I'm not impressed as I've had an extra 16 minutes added to what was a respectable time and finishing position. My Garmin also showed it to be 250m short and no e mail to notify us that results were available or where they could be found. I guess for £11 I shouldn't grumble. I have to also agree that the kids on wheels were a pain when I was feeling the pain! The mud was fun and the marshals friendly however and it had a nice relaxed feel about it. It's a shame the guys on the finishing line were perhaps a little too relaxed as well. Date of review: February 6, 2013

In short: Far better than I had expected In full: I had low expections of this race because of the reviews the organising Co had for other events, however I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! Plenty of marshalls, fully stocked water stations,T-Shirt & medal all for a bargain price of £10. No chip timing, but can't expect that for £10. Date of review: February 28, 2012

In short: Simple budget race in park in 4 laps, pretty flat In full: Flat 4 laps around park of paths and grass. Very accurately measured by mcc so improved on previous 10k's which they always get slated on. 1 very nice lady marshall who encouraged alot and called out the current lap times as we dont get chip timing when we ran past. Everyone got a goody bag with medal, tshirt and help yourself on bottle water. Good bargain for £10 and it was nice warm morning. Fast registration and pick of numbers. To be honest it is well organised compared to 2011 reviews. Date of review: February 27, 2012

In short: decent, but not memorable In full: A fairly quick course, with a couple of very mild and very quick inclines whilst on the grass. The main problem is 4 laps of the course, which is quite boring.
Marshalls were ok. Some were encouraging and some didn't say anything. The woman who shouted out the times half way through the laps was encouraging but she kept calling out incorrect times which would be annoying to some.
There were a lot of pedestrians, dogs etc but that can't be helped and was manageable.
Fellow runners were very encouraging.
I'm not sure that I trust the website to show the results. There are other MCC events from a few weeks ago on there, with no results published Date of review: February 26, 2012

In short: Nice day, lovely scenery and good crowd. In full: Nice day, lovely scenery and good crowd. Resticted by size of park means its 4xlaps, but I didnt really notice it. When I ran past some other runners they actually commended me and urged me on! Fantastic. Signed up on the day and it took about 2 minutes. For £10? and if its not raining, get out of bed and try it. Glad I did. In the rain it would be very muddy though. I know this as I used to walk my woof there. Date of review: February 26, 2012

In short: Well organised with PB potential. In full: The course was roughly half path, half terrain and was made up of 4 2.5km laps. Laps got a little bit boring but it was useful for pacing. It seemed quite well organised and the lady marshall about half way round was fab for shouting out times as you ran past. Nice crowd and friendly marshalls. The only problem was the masses of families on days out with toddlers on training wheels. It got a bit difficult to avoid them sometimes and they didn't look best pleased to see runners there. It was a sunny day though so maybe this isn't normally a problem? My Garmin time says I got a PB so I'm happy and will do it again next year! Date of review: February 26, 2012

In short: Tough, heavy underfoot and challenging conditions, fun though! In full: First time I have run this event but having read previous positive reviews I was keen to give it a try. Found the course fairly tough, some short, steep inclines and descents and rather sticky underfoot due to previous rain, so quite muddy, felt like a cross-country event at times. Harder than expected but excellent organisation I felt. Free chocolate bars and a T-shirt at the end made it all worthwhile! Date of review: February 13, 2012
