In short: They describe it as undulating - that's a lie

In short: Tough hills - up and down
In full: Tough hilly course but scenic and well organised. Enjoyed the race, great support from marshals. Nice t-shirt too!

In short: Great race but why don't they sort out the parking?
In full: Feel like I might as well copy out my comments from 2010 here. A great race, challenging course, well marshalled, not a PB course (although I know someone who did) and if you aren't going up you'll be going down. But its fun and friendly. This ends when you cross the finishing line and encounter the nightmare traffic at the rugby club that goes on for hours, and has cars queuing up to exit the rugby club alongside the finish. Its not good, its the same every year. Got my husband to park on the Meltham Road and walked back to the car and would urge you to do the same if you run it next year. Otherwise you will be sat there for at least half an hour!

In short: A lovely day out
In full: A very enjoyable, local race with some very supportive marshalls. Yes its hilly and not great for a PB but for a mild challenge with some lvely views and people its perfect. Only niggle was that I couldn't see the 'funnel' finish due to some over-keen supporters and nearly missed it (the guy in front of me did) which resulted in me nearly tripping up the guy behind me. I 'raised' this with the marshall and some more tape was brought out and spectators moved ... its truly great to have the support but it shouldn't compromise runner safety. That said, it was sorted very quickly and it certainly won't stop me recommending the race or doing it again next year!

In short: Tough but rewarding
In full: I rated the Meltham 10k as a challenge but this felt slightly tougher. Some of the inclines were quite deceptive and the first four miles definitely make you work hard. The finish is nice and quick, as long as you have a kick left in you! Well organised and good value but why do they allow traffic around the bottle neck start and finish? Surely the organisers could ban traffic till after the race and start and finish the race in the main car park. Enjoyed the race and hope to do it again next year.

In short: A cracking race
In full: A local one for me, so I least I have the advantage of training on them thar hills! don't worry though, after the first 4 miles and 3 climbs of note, things do start to ease off. Good value for £10, and well organised with a good size field making for a good atmosphere. Got a course PB this year, but some way off a distance PB which is never going to happen with these inclines. It's a challenging course, but an enjoyable event and a rewarding experience. Highly recommended

In short: Tough race for a 1st-timer - great run in to finish
In full: First time at 10k and I found the first 4 miles tough (living on the Wirral I'm not used to doing hills!) and that put paid to me acheiving my target finish time. The last couple of miles made up for it though and I found fellow competitors and officials friendly and encouraging.

In short: Hard & Hilly
In full: Not one to hit a PB. Starts off on a long hill and carries on that way. Great scenery, well organised and good support for a 10k. A great challenge worth doing!

In short: Challenging but good fun and well organised.
In full: Very helpful admin and friendly marshalls well placed throughout. Run begins at rugby club so tea and coffee available before and after and no waiting in the cold.
Some challenging hills but they just take you up to some grewat views. good fun!
