In short: Fun run for the masses. In full: The change of route was an improvement on the horrendous front that we recognise as Blackpool's finest. The route back along the sea wall was much more interesting and invigorating. One moan though; I know a lot of the people who take part in this run are not serious runners so why oh why do so many congregate at the front when the race is starting? It takes 2 or 3 minutes to slalom through them and settle into a natural stride. It's all for a very good cause so I would do it again- and probably have a bit of a moan afterwards again. Well organised Blackpool and see you again. :) Date of review: May 9, 2011
In short: A good local charity fun run In full: A well supported local event, raising money for an excellent cause. Very much a 'fun run' but well organised and fantastic to see thousands of people of all abilities taking part. Change of route this year - probably not as good as the traditional one but a classic Blackpool route - FLAT, which I love. Toilets, i.e. lack of, seemed a bit of an issue at the start but a small grumble.
With the numbers who take part, wonder whether they should think about chip timings for future events. But then again, this event unlike many other local ones, does give a 'its the taking part that counts' feel to it so maybe this would spoil it. Date of review: May 8, 2011
