In short: It's my closest to home half marathon so has to be done. Middle section challenge makes it interesting!

In short: Would be a great choice for a first Half!
In full: Having read many runner's reviews from the 2011 Inverness Half, I just can't believe how fortunate we were with the weather this year, fabulous! Very pleasant (flat) route, good support esp at the finish and an all round good experience. Would def recommend and will be back next year!

In short: Great early season race with timing good for most spring marathons. Late start is nice so therefore compatable with good weekend trip for runners and supporters alike. Well done Inverness!
In full: Organisation good but morning registration a bit of a pain for travellers on the day. Very slick regustration but unmight be worth the post-out option. Nice road running route. Not flat but I had a chunk out of my PB so couldn#t have been too bad. Great support particularly at finish. Chariots of Fire-esqe with stadium finale. Lovely route when along the river. They do it well in Inverness and this run sits well with the Loch Ness Marathon in October. Could do with a variation on the colour of the black (as Loch Ness) tech t-shirt, but that is picky! A good excuse for a off-peak trip to the Highlands.

In short: Nice scenery but too much running on pavements
In full: Great start time, no early start so a pleasent change. The course is not flat, so good PB opportunity. The course iis spoilt by being forced onto uneven pavements. Attempts to run at the edge of the road results in marshalls asking you to go back on the cracked pavements. Some sections of closed roads are excellent. Good support and nice finish on the track, easy parking.

In short: A really good half marathon
In full: Really nice course, much of it is along the river Ness with a few miles in residential streets. You also get to run through the centre of Inverness for a stretch. The finish was in an athletics stadium which was a nice touch. Organisation is good, easy to get parked and the later start time presumably helps the many people who travel to do this.

Would definitely do this again and am glad we planned a weekend around it. It has all the benefits of a big city race but none of the hassles and some nice scenery. Good atmosphere on the day and a lot of support.
