In full: I had heard there were hils, so knew what to expect. I also knew that i was not going to achieve a PB on this course, but i came very close to my previous time. So was very happy with that. Very well organised and many water stations, and marshalls who were all very friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks!

In short: A good friendly local race - hard enough to make know you've been working.
In full: My second time at the race, so the halfway hill didn't take me by surprise this time. It still slowed me down to a jog, though! A well organised, friendly event with a good mix of participants. Not a pb course, but a very enjoyable one!

In short: did anyone manage to run! up that hill!!!
In full: not a big race but decent organisation fairly quick course except for the hill, i was expecting a longer gradual slope not the south face of everest but at least the drop back down was compensating.Nice day and picture postcard scenery made it worth the effort.

In short: a real challenge, but well worth the effort
In full: For me this was a really good race, Ludlow runners produced a really well organised event with plenty of marshalls and water stations. The scenary was very nice and the course pretty much traffic free, the very steep bank at 3 miles was definately one to sort the men and women from the boys and girls! but inspite of that I will be aiming to be back next year.

In short: Well organised and well marshalled, pleasant course, good crowd at finish to clap you home
In full: I drove down to the Tenbury 10k 2009 this morning. The drive took a lot longer than I thought and the planned hour of calm preparation turned into about 25 minutes. There was ample parking and you just needed to follow the signs for the swimming pool to find your way. (I managed to miss this the first time around but followed the trail of runners on my second pass). The race started off on a flat playing field and the 220ish participants flooded out through a gateway turning left on to the first hill of the day.

Not too bad as starts go and as soon as you hit the top you’re heading downhill again. There’s then a further set of inclines on the route that once you get to the top of you’re filled with a bit of relief that all the hard work’s done and it’s all downhill from there. That was a bit of a mistake and at around the half way point there is a further hill. It was a bit of a killer but once you reach the top it’s mainly downhill from there. The route takes you along a shaded path and at the end you come out just behind the start and it’s then the run-in to the finish line.

All in this was a great race. The organisation was quietly efficient and everything went smoothly from arrival to departure. The only oddity I found was the markers which were at mile intervals rather than kilometre but once you get your mind round that it’s not a problem. The marshalling and signposting was excellent and on a warm day the 4/5 waterstations along the route were most welcome. The route was very scenic with a few spectators/locals dotted around – but the finish was well supported. Nice medal, water and mars bar in the goody bag – with an invite to join in the 10 mile Fell Race in the Mortimer Forest December 2009, i’ll have to think about that one.

In short: Well organised, very friendly local race
In full: Challenging 10k not going to rewrite your pb here, or unlikely anyway, but very friendly and pleasant. Ample car parking and facitlities, and a great field for the kids to kick a ball round with the rest of the family whilst waiting for you to finish!

In short: Well organised race.
In full: First time for this race. Local lions organisation very good. Plenty of parking and accessible registration. Many races could learn from the good PA system with a clear commentary and communication. Hill at 3m slightly overhyped. Good support, especially at finish.

In short: Really friendly and well organised race
In full: I was told by someone this was course was 'flat as a pancake' just before the start so thought I may be into PB territory but I would describe it more as undulating and it was hard work after a few months away from running. This race had a lovely atmosphere, really friendly and very well organised everything in one place toilets, parking, start and finsih. I'm not used to drinking stations on 10k's but this had 5 which was makes it very beginner friendly too. Definately going to return next year hopefully get a much better time!
