In short: Good course for training, fairly pacey, well organised.
In full: Have done the 16miler two years on the trot and would recommend for anyone attempting to run a spring marathon. Two laps are a good place to test running for negative splits. Nice running by the river, contrasts well with the road.
Would definitely do again - the two distance option is a great, especially if you want to run with someone who isn't interesting in doing the 16miles. Getting a good collection of mugs too!

In short: Flat, fast & well organised - nice and simple
In full: A decent race overall. Good for Marathon training.

Pros: well organised, very flat route, loads of parking, starts on time, early start, nice goodies at finish, some good scenery & second lap much more room.
Cons: first lap quite busy, some dull scenery & paying for the bag drop seems cheeky :-(

Will be back next year.

In short: Messed up the timing
In full: After a good run where I beat my previous time but 4 minutes I found that the timing system had let me down. It had failed to read my chip over the half way point so put my time down as the 8 mile distance rather than the full distance.
You will struggle to find a flatter course so great for a PB. Its a bit crowded on the pavements on the first lap but thins out a lot on the second. Water bottles would be nice and nobody needs the huge energy bottles they give out. Is there not a smaller size out there? The waste is criminal.

In full: This is my second breakfast run and I did enjoy it. Like a lot of races the first mile was quite congested, but once past that the runners spread out. The second half of the course isn't very interesting but overall I think its a good event. The marshalling was good a friendly and the organisation was spot on. I was glad I finished relatively quickly as the cue for the goody bags etc was far to long for patience!!

In short: Worth doing for sure.
In full: Fast course and perfect weather for running. Overtaking/lapping slower runners on pavement sections a bit frustrating, but apart from that a good run.

In short: Good morning
In full: I know it's expensive in comparison, I dislike having to dot between back-end 8 milers on the path and having to go into the road to be brushed past by coaches and cars, and it's two laps of a very local route. But I needed a fast 16 miles and I got it, and above all else I got the infamous generic 8.2 or 16 miles mug. Like my hamper too.

In short: Main reason I pay the entry cost is for the early start - and the marshalls were great!

In short: Fast but dull course. Good organisation, friendly marshalls.
In full: The course: very flat and fast, first 3 miles along the rivers are lovely, but the next 5 miles along the main roads rather awful. With a rather congested first lap - it would be a good idea to separate the 8- and 16 milers a bit more. Water in bottles would have been good. And scooping water out of plastic basins at the end - errrmmm... The mug was nice, but otherwise everything had a rather commercial feel about it: entry fee, paying for bag storage (Hello?!?! Never seen that ANYWHERE before!). What was good: the "event hotel" had laid on an early breakfast (nothing special, but perfectly adequate) and a complimentary late check-out, so I could walk back to my room for a shower and snooze. I had never been to Kingston before, so it was nice to see the place, and make a weekend of it, but the run itself was rather average.

In short: not good value for money
In full: this is a very fast course, but is also very expensive. £25 entry fee for a run mainly along the pavement of a busy main road, with lots of side roads to cross. My main gripe was the lack of bottles of water at the end - instead we were asked to use our mugs (no medal) to scoop up some water from a plastic bucket - rather undignified after 16 miles. Also slightly grating was the £1 bag deposit. The whole thing felt like a money making exercise, and there was little support along the course despite it being through a busy suburban area.
