In short: What a brilliant race; one of the best routes I've run on a half-marathon. Great bunch of people; will be back next year!

In short: Lovely!
In full: I did this race last year and so had an idea of what to expect (hills) which really helped. This year there was a lot more mud which (for me) made it even more enjoyable. Apart from the start being slightly delayed (only by 5 minutes or so - not a major problem) everything seemed really well organised.
One minor criticism - the water at the drink stations was in bottles - most people only wanted to take a few gulps and then discarded the rest so there was a lot of wastage. From this point of view cups might have been better. (Not that it makes any difference to people running - just thinking of it from a 'green' point of view.)
Overall: Loved it and will definitely do again!

In short: Hills, mud and did I mention hills!
In full: This was my 5th half marathon so I thought I knew what I was in for, I was wrong! The course was very very tough, I ran the Eden project half last year and I would say that the hills were about the same but the mud made it harder. I finnished in 2hr 6min which is a good time for me on such terrain.
The event seemed well organised to me and it was well marked and marshled (thanks to the people who did it). We did get a nice t-shirt but it would have been nice to get a medal, as I always like to show them to my grandad.
This is probably a joint favorite race with Eden for me, and if my legs have stopped hurting by next year I will enter again!

In short: The hardest half I have run, and I loved it!
In full: This was the hardest steepest run I have done in my life, I still don't know how I managed to finish 11. But I loved it, very organised, nice support, lovely scenery, I will definitely do it again.

In short: Cracking run over some hilly off-road trails
In full: This was the slowest half marathon I have done, simply due to the big hills and tough terrain. A normal road half for me would take about 1hr32 and today I took 1hr42.

However, the views were glorious, one minute atop a hill with views of the countryside, then soon afterwards running alongside a peaceful river.

The runners were a good mix of club runners, firefighters and people who were just there for the challenge of completing the distance.

The only negatives that I could come up with were that the weather was a bit warm and the water was handed out in bottles. I only usually have a mouthful or two at each drink station so over the course of the run ended up throwing away the best part of 4 bottles of water. Cups would have been loads better and would have surely saved the organisers money!

However, this isn't even a moan, more of a thought for next year.

I'll certainly be looking out for this race next year and would highly recommend it to all!

In short: My first half-marathon, and it was steep. I enjoyed it so much that the hills didn't bother me at all. The free massage helped, too.

In short: Excellent first race for Cornwall Fire and Rescue service. Lovely route although described sas 'undulating' I think masks the fact that there are some challenging climbs throughout the race!
