In short: Nice alternative to the Great North Run
In full: Pleased with my PB time and enjoyed the whole event, including afterwards when 3 guys helped push my strandid car out of the mud and into the hour long queue to get out of the car park.

In short: Nice scenary but poor value for money
In full: This was my first ever half marathon, and I probably should have picked an easier course as this one most certainly is 'undulating'!

The Good- Beautiful place to run, and the weather was perfect. Marshalls offered excellent encouragement. Good crowd support although only on the start and home stretches.

The Bad- £28 to enter and i've no idea where the money goes. I appreciate it is for charity but there are no road closures required on the course, the organisers did not close off roads to make access to the site easier (Took me 1 hr from Reading) meaning I didn't get lined up until 10 minutes from the start. Car park was a bit of a joke as well- a muddy field, with cars spinning their wheels left right and centre to try and get out. No goody bag either, just 2 mars bars and a bottle of water. Medal was also pretty tacky.

In short: Still my favourite half
In full: It does help that is on my doorstep so I can cycle there and back meaning any problems with parking, toilets and baggage check never affect me.

It is a lovely lovely route - the hills are plenty but nothing too steep and the downhills make up for it - especially as the last 3 miles is more or less all downhill with fantastic views.

The medal looked like a 4 year old had coloured it in but nice to have as was the Mars bar

Very friendly and fun race and would recommend

In short: Very well organised, will be back, if I can remember to get my entry in on time
In full: Solution to the parking problems - cycle from home, bring your bike on the train or park somewhere else and cycle in from there. It works, try it!

In short: Lots of "undulating" up and down... Hardly any flats to speak of! Lots of toilets which is good, no goody bag which is bad!

In short: Beautiful scenery, varied course, but a long last mile!
In full: I thought organisation was fine, and not as bad as many other rate it. Baggage, loos, marshalling etc all good, and I don't really mind about the plastic water cups. Some lucozade as well as water would have been nice at one of stops.
The race really is in gorgeous scenery - so much nicer than Royal Parks in London on the same day.

In short: Final cracked it
In full: This one has been my nemesis race for 5 years, 2 previous attempts put me well outside of my target time but this year I beat my course pb by 15 minutes and my distance pb by 2 minutes so pretty pleased.

Yes there are hills but nothing that is too taxing and they look worse than they are.

Will I do it again? Nope! I have achieved what I wanted to and will leave Windsor on a high.

Thanks to all the marshals on the course , the fantastic crowds and of course the organisers.

In short: Beautiful scenery, fun course, great crowd
In full: I knew running in the Great Park would be good, but I hadn't anticipated quite how spectacular the course would be. It really helps with the mental aspect of a run if there's always something nice to look at.

The course is undeniably hilly, but it's not as tough as you'd expect, and there are as many downhill sections as there are uphills.

The organisation was generally good, although the first bit was extremely crowded, and I was forced to go well below my planned pace for a mile or so, and use up a lot of energy dodging round people. That's the case with any big run, though, so was no big surprise. The water stations were well-manned and run, but cups are a real nuisance and very hard to drink from while running, so bottles would have been a help, and it would also have been good to have had them on both sides of the road. Sports drinks would also have been good, but that's no massively big deal on a relatively short run on a cool day.

Medals were nice, although there was no 'goody bag' as such. I don't see that as a big problem, since the goody bags rarely contain anything worth having except a few freebies from the sponsors. A bottle of water and a mars bar was all we got and all I really needed.

All in all, a great run and definitely one I will do again next year.

In short: Slightly challenging but excellent location
In full: Really enjoyed this run, my first half marathon for 8 years. The sun eventually came out around 2.00pm so I had the last half of my run in sunny weather. The course is quite undulating so can be tiring on the legs, probably not the easiest for a first timer but certainly not beyond anyone with enough training. Excellent atmosphere and the guys on the p.a. done a great job giving information and encouragment at all times. Toilets were plentiful and the baggage storage worked well. An excellent crowd cheered all competitors along and a special thank you to the Army corps who marshalled and cheered us round. My only issue would be with leaving at the end. I had read in the brochure that there was priorty parking for runners so we duly displayed out running number on the dashboard. We arrived early as suggested and then unfortunately were parked right at the back when it came to leaving. The usual free for all ensued meaning we sat in the car for 60 minutes barely moving before we managed to get out of the field. There was a marshall with a radio trying to control cars but he left after realising no one was taking any notice of him. I Really don't want to be sitting in traffic for an hour after running 13 miles and then driving a further 2 hours home, some improvements still required there but otherwise a great day.

In short: Beautiful course. Not as tough as expected as uphills offset by downhills and fast tarmac throughout. PB'd by 4mins in my 11th half so can't have been that tough! Loved it.
