In short: A great race taken too far
In full: Overall a very good race, with some excellent and not so excellent points. First the not so excellent:
The course was too long by .3ish of a mile, but the organisers took it on the chin and timings were adjusted accordingly. But it did ruin many a pacing plan. However I personally thought the rest of the event was excellent, very good communication, good start and finish organisation, one of the better goodie bags I have received for a while, and a nice fast route, with a decent atmosphere. I will certainly be booking my place for next year, where I am certain the route will be double and treble checked and will 100% measure 13.1

In short: No water until 6 miles.POOR SHOW FOR BIG BUCKS.
In full: First the positives.Great marshals, nice t and medal.
But my race was spoilt by a lack of water on a very hot day.Gave up on PB due to dehydration and just held on for finish line, which was about aquarter of a mile over 13.1.Unlike Arnie I Wont Be Back.
PS I feel sorry for all the hard work done by so many people that someones decision to reduce the amount of water available in previous years ruined the day.

In short: good run, pity about the lack of water...
In full: Start with the bad... 2 of the 4 water stations ran out of essential water in a beautiful but very warm day. The first and last water stations had nothing at all which was shocking. The marshalls looked embarrased but the organisers, not the marshalls let the runners down. I have committed to this race for 5 years and they could not even commit to providing me with some water. Good medals, good t-shirts along with juice and fruit but it keeps coming back to the lack of water. Curious to see how many people were dehydrated at the end. It is a sad day when you have to pick up 1/2 used bottles from the ground to keep yourself going.

It does seem to be a regular event in Edinburgh. Think 5 of the last 7 events I have done there have ran out of water at some of the stations.
