In short: Lovely run In full: Lovely run with great views. Very hilly and challenging which was great. Low attendance compared to Leeds and Sheffield so less chance of getting stuck behind a crowd and less zig zag running overtaking people. Only bad thing about this race was that there was no medal in the goody bag when advertisements said you would receive one. Date of review: January 9, 2012

In short: Still very hilly, but that's half the fun, some organisational improvements to be made In full: This is my second year running this race and it's a local one so I want to support it, but there are some definite improvements to be made.
The start of the race is really tough, the first 4 - 5 miles is a relentless hill, steadier than some of the others, but very challenging and not at all scenic - it would be great if it could be improved with some more supporters/atmosphere along the way. The rest of the course is great as it gives you a real indication of the rich variety of scenery that Bradford has to offer.
This is a very hilly and challenging half marathon - I did it with my personal trainer who was only 6 minutes quicker than me and said that the Great North Run is a fun run in comparison, I like this, but it's a tough course.
The finish in Lister Park was better this year, the lap meant my husband was able to spot and photograph me which made him happy.
There are no energy points, just water - this is fine for me as I do bring my own gels, but if you want to encourage more runners it would probably help to have some energy drinks at least at 2/3 points around the course.
I was disappointed that there was only a tshirt and a very basic goody bag - no medal, I would have paid a bit more for my entry to get a medal.
This is a good, if challenging race, but needs to be marketed better to get more entries! Date of review: October 28, 2011

In short: Difficult hills but good scenery and good support from the locals. In full: I was nervous of this race as i am originally from the area and recognised the route, and all it's hills. Great but difficult course. Goody bag was a let down and no medal! Date of review: October 25, 2011

In short: very hilly, not great for beginners and no medals :-( In full: This was my second half marathon, my first being Leeds. I had expected a lot more runners. I am not an elite athlete, I am a plodder. I plodded my way round, and at times I felt very alone and lonely, with not another runner in sight. The support from the locals was great though, and a nice boost at the top of the hills, and hills and more hills! It was a good achievement but I'm not sure I will bother again next year. In short: Great race. Great day In full: A thoroughly enjoyable race that was well organised and very well marshalled. The support from the locals was the best and most uplifting I have ever known; the drinks, ice pops, jelly babies and slices of orange being handed out by householders were very much appreciated. I certainly hope this race is back on the calendar in 2012 as it was great from start to finish. Thank you Bradford. Date of review: October 2, 2011

In short: Hills, Hills, Hills In full: Very good race, well organised. Nice course, although did i mention the hills (lots of them). Never run a race before that starts off with a gradual climb of about four and a half miles. Will definately do this again, although i am worried about the drop of over 300 entries from the first race last year. More work needs to be done here. Need to make sure that this race stays on the race calander. Date of review: October 2, 2011

In short: Really enjoyed the challenge of getting up the hills to see the scenery. In full: A great run for challenging hills, great scenery in and out of Bradford, nice people along the way and a nice finish in Lister Park. Really looking forward to next year!
