In short: PB potential, lovely setting
In full: Flat course, uneven fields for half of it, but great atmosphere (part fun run, so might annoyt overly serious runners) - km markers, big clocl, lots of water, medals.

And big fat PB potential - smashed mine.

Lots going on afterwards too. Lovely day.

In short: Gorgeous route, great atmosphere, bad organisation
In full: Wow! Gorgeous route across fields and tracks and past a little church to a finish by Holdenby House.

A great atmosphere and lots of chatting and socialising between runnners before the race.

However ... bad organisation. The rrace was late starting and no-one was directing the runners. One megaphone was their only way to communicate and you couldn't hear it from mid-field so everyone had to follow the person in front and hope they were going the right direction. Due to the (unexpectedly high) number of entrants they also announced a 2nd start time half an hour later but there was only one person starting at this time and no-one knew when to start him so he was wandering around asking when the start was going to be.

Good festival feel after the race and bird of prey display did make up for the lack of organisation, but it was very frustrating to get all set for a race to find out no-one knew what they were doing. A map of the course would have been helpful too although it was clearly marked as you ran.

In short: Beautiful course, poor organisation at the start
In full: It didn't get off to a great start when the organisers didn't seem to know where the start was despite having a start/finish gantry! The pointless treking of everyone to another location only to have to come back to the real start was at best disappointing.
Two laps; marshalls/water was well done but very uneven sufaces; narrow in places and walkers, dogs and pushchairs to contend with.
It was for a good cause so feel a bit mean spirited but the organisers could do much better.

In short: It's a brilliant race for a cause, I would suggest that walkers be asked to be more considerate over runners as often they blocked the path. If this could happen this race has fantastic potential to attract a wider scope of competitors. GREAT CAUSE

In short: Wonderful venue, beautiful weather but man that hill! and I ran up it twice!!!
In full: On small thing not everyone knows where Holdenby House is and there was a lack of signing for the event.
