In short: Hot, muddy shambles - but hey, it's the Race for Life
In full: 40 minutes late starting due to traffic congestion. Shambolic line-up - more/better marshalls needed to stop people breaking the tapes. Weather hot & muggy following thunderstorms, so ground thoroughly poached in places: the course is basically cross-country, which seemed to come as a bit of a shock to the many competitors who would have trained on roads...BUT usual great atmos.

In short: Hot weather can't be helped, crowded in some places but good day out at the quay.
In full: The start was very crowded but a good atmosphere but it must have been 30 degrees celcius that day and it sure felt hotter. The delayed start meant we were stood scorching in the sun for too long. The quay is a great setting and you can have a nice ice cream afterwards!

In short: too hot, too steep and too expensive even though good cause
In full: It's a lovely place but something is wrong with the organisation when the race start has to be delayed by 40 minutes because the competitors can't get in. It's also expensive to enter but the money doesn't go to Cancer Research but to the admin. Cancer Research gets the money from the sponsorship - and there is a limit to how many times ones friends will give you money to go running. However, I will always be grateful to this series for gettting me started.
