In short: A mix of good and bad
In full: A good point was the lovely run itself. The scenery was nice and the support from the villages was welomed. I also liked that we got bottles of water and not cups- they were welcome on a warm day. Bad points were the lack of toilets at the start and I would say a pretty shameful goody bag. I got a nice glass memento last year, but this year there wasn't so much as a T-shirt. Instead, I got a wagon wheel and a brown banana. Not worth £20, I think. I'd do it again though because it's only a 20minute drive as opposed to a 1-2 hr trip to another one. Sorry to sound miserable!

In short: Friendly Half with a few hills to keep it interesting
In full: Nice run out on a bank holiday. Agree that the start wasn't great, walked through the start line as was very overcrowded, but after the first mile managed to get into my running.

Great amount of support along what is a very rural course, each village turned out to cheer people on which was nice.

Could do with more water stations and sponges to be able to cool daown as it was a warm one, but warnings were out for that a few days before.

Overall a nice friendly run which I will do again. Nice organisation.

In short: A great day out.
In full: A lovely rural run finishing in town by the cathedral.A bit of up and down at start and finish but flat inbetween where you can get the hammer down.Cracking good race.

In short: Very well organised & lovely course
In full: Only thing that let this lovely run down was the toilets at the start, need more for next year, but this is a little niggle that otherwise was a lovely run on a lovely course. Thanks to all the villages that were out cheering everyone on & making the run so enjoyable. I prefer a medal to a t-shirt so thanks to everyone involved & will see you next year.

In short: Flat my arse
In full: Start was very strange, started with a shuffle, then round the corner into a bottle neck where you could only walk, then out onto the main roads, atmosphere was great for the majority of the course, not enough water stations though.

In short: Mildly undulating course with a few nasty but fairly short kick ups towards the end
In full: Nice semi rural route well marshalled throughout and quite well supported in the main. Waitrose goody bag and medal was about right but personally I think a tech t shirt is better. Couple of easy fix points for KP events would really improve this run; An earlier start time so that we run when it's cooler and extra portaloos at the start. (4 toilets+leisure centre loo for 1000+ competitors...really?!)

In short: Whoever told me Lichfield Half was "fairly flat" lied...
In full: Nice enough race, good atmosphere. 10:30am was a late start, meant running in mid-day heat & sun. For a race at this time of year it should have started earlier to make the most of the cooler mornings. In the heat not enough water stations and open to bottles are not easy to drink from when running... More water stations with water in sports bottles please! Hilly course with a brutal last few miles. Would run again for value for money & picturesque route though it not a PB course! Good finish area and great being able to get official result within seconds of crossing the line!

In short: A well organised race with lots of encouraging marshals
In full: I was a bit worried about the start but it is only for about 30seconds before you are on to roads. Well marshalled with encouragement along the way. Only disappointment was no t-shirt! Turned down the offer of a coach and enjoyed the short walk back to the car.

In short: Very enjoyable - long way from home so unlikely to run it again
In full: Very enjoyable run through lovely countryside in best weather of the weekend. Stop-start through school gate is off-putting but, otherwise, I was very happy. Surprised it's not a 'Run Britain' race, not that it really matters to an old charity runner like me.

In short: Great course!
In full: Really nice course with lovely scenery, great support from the locals and really well marshalled. Only complaint is the slow start but apart from that, a great race. Will definitely be back next year!
