In short: Canal, ducks, boats with a white water park thrown in.
In full: Enjoyable run. I found the organisation fine and the marshalls were very friendly and plenty of them....too many when you consider we were running up and down a canal! What could possibly go wrong!

In full: I was very pleasantly surprised at this event. Had not done much training so was unsure what to expect. Long streteches of tow path running so glad I had my MP3. Very friendly marshalls en route and well mared out altho out and backs are fairly straightforward mostly. ..BUT more disrtance markers needed...in miles as well as the km's.
The only realy gripe I have has already been mentioned and that is the general mess at the finish straight...people / kids / dogs wandering all over the place. I had run for just under 5 hours and to have all that to wind through on my glory sprint was just a tad annoying. Treat it more seriously please...it was a very hot / humid day, and we had all worked our socks off to get it done. I loved the white water park and even stopped to take photos en route and a video....much to the amazement of some canoeists !!
Would I do it again ??? Yes, I think I would and would put in some decent training next time ! Thx guys.

In short: Well enough organised out and back marathon
In full: Race things: Reviews taken on board by organisers. Straightforward tow path route from Hackney Marshes to Lee Valley white water centre and back. Enough drinks stations for most although maybe not enough for those used to big city events. Marshalling was fine. 140 entrants means mostly running solo, being passed or passing others now and then, so probably not ideal for first timer unless running with pals. Start/finish facilities pretty good for the numbers involved with showers available in the changing rooms. Overall a decent value event. The only gripe I have is with whoever was organising the pom pom children at the finish, just approaching the finish working hard for a sub 4 and in the last few yards a group of kids suddenly leap out in front of me, I stopped dead avoiding knocking any of them over and walked over the line. Nobody seemed bothered about the risk of small children being flattened by 13+ stone adult male attempting to sprint for the line after 26 miles!

Non race thing: with all the building work I couldn't find the start. Ended up a few miles west and running. Get to the start with a few minutes to spare, pink in the face, shirt dripping. Sorting out kit/number outside when local comes up to me and asks how I did.....

I would do it again, I prefer club type events with low numbers to big city crowds, Lee Valley tow paths very pleasant and this made a very good LSR. We'll have to see whether 2go continues as beenandgone after 2012. Hope they do, another marathon on the schedule is always welcome.

In short: Cheap and cheerful run - more like a training run along a canal side trail
In full: Much improved on last year with good marshalling - the marshalls were ALL attentive and on the ball - well done. Loads of water stations and the medal it self was better.

The improvements for next time. I only saw 3 mileage (Kilometre) markers which made it difficult to pace yourself 10.7k being the first (strange distance marker), the course appeared longer than 26.2 miles (0.5k more), the reduction in eating and drinking outlets at the end. Last year the food and a beer tent gave runners something to do where as this year a solo burger van was all that was to offer. Pity as I expected the after race activites were going to be better.

But the biggest gripe was that the finishing 100 yards was a common area for hula hoopers, cheerleaders etc with marathon runners having to fight their way to the finish line - absolute madness from the organisers who can not be a runners!!!

In short: first one2go race and loved it
In full: What a lovely race, marshalls and runners very supportive, scenery was great and trying to not get mesmorised by the water and not falling in. Seeing the houseboats along the way, but what a warm day out, thankyou for a lovely day out and sorry for being so slow, :0(

In short: Thank you so much to the organisers and Marshalls for a wonderful event!
In full: I do hope this race carries on in future years, as I'd be there again! Not only were the organisers end Marshalls very welcoming but the other more "experienced" runners made me feel part of their "group" not ashamed for being slow!
