In short: very friendly and welcoming In full: Two and a half laps, all along road with the start the other side of the castle from the finish. A sharp uphill through the town centre at the beginning, middle and near the end plus two nice long descents in between make this an interesting, varied and testing race. The spectators in the town get three looks at the passing runners and they offer plenty of encouragement. This is so much better for spectators and supporters, a point overlooked by some who say they prefer single lapped races. A marvellous view of the castle on the descent if you have the breath to look! Date of review: September 12, 2011
In short: Lovely run, friendly marshals and well organised In full: A really good event, great support from all the marshals, plenty of water (the most water stations I have ever seen in a 10k because of the loops), special mention too to the marshal on the left hand turn who was smiling and encouraging to everyone. Good turn out from supporters which was great to see. Tough climb and knowing you had to go up the market hill for a third time was hard going - but it has got to be a bit tought to make you feel good. Well done Framlingham Flyers. In short: Really enjoyed but good bag lacked this year In full: This is the 2nd time I have done this race. I really enjoyed it the hill and incline after that is a killer but great support through the town and well manned water stations and cheerful marshalls. Only things I would say is that the info we were sent out didn't have the start time or postcode for the race on which would have been useful ;) also at the end although there was a lovely t shirt and a bottle of water there was no banana or chocolate like last year. I wouldn't expect anything massive but a small mars or bit of chocolate is well needed after a run for me ( luckily I had my own) other than that a really really enjoyable run and I will be back next year. Special thanks to the marshalls at the top of the hill telling me I had a nice long downhill stretch and cheering really loudly and to the Marshall who was stood on the corner before the left turn towards the start who was full of beans and excellent commentary as we were running :) thanks Date of review: September 4, 2011
In short: third hill robbed my legs In full: Don't expect a pb from this race due to the hill you go up three times and the slight incline after that as well. Tried to give a sprint finish but the hill robbed all of the strength out of my legs. Good crowd support. Date of review: September 4, 2011
In short: Well worth travelling for.. In full: Another great race put on in Framlingham. I only found out about this race a few years ago by accident and have done it ever since. The whole thing is first class. Well done frm flyers.. see you again next year.. The bags are a nice alternative to a medal but i have 3 now and my wife has 2... so how about a change?
Well done again.. Date of review: September 5, 2010
In short: good race, felt like a real challenge, and harder than it looked on paper In full: A strange way to spend a sunday morning when you're supposed to be on holiday in suffolk, but this race was worth missing the lie in for, although heading out of town for the second time it didn't feel like it! the organisation was excellent and the local support very welcome. I'm sure that if I am in suffolk again next year I'll try it again Date of review: September 13, 2009
