In short: very disappointed
In full: Yes I think we've all said the car park was a rip off and the cost of the event, my major concern was that the baggage area was left unattended. i finished in 1hour 48 mins so there was no excuse not to be there it could have been a disaster as my car keys etc were in the bag

In short: PB spoilt by my name not being on the results list!
In full: This was my first time at this event even though it is my home town. I trained hard, felt good on the day and achieved my PB for a half marathon of 1 hour 41 mins. However someone elses name was pulished next to my number and time on the results list. Very disappointing as coming in at place 238 I should have been on the Gloucestershire Echo published list! Also I did not recieve my number in the post and had to collect it on the day. Further to this I emailed the two email address it says to contact should you have a problem with the results with no reply. An acknowledgement of the mistake would be nice! Poor organisation, communication and administration. I feel like I deserve my money back.

In short: Still haven't got it right.
In full: Haven't run this for a few years (although I am a local) after a poor experience. Sad to say it hasn't improved much and the £3.00 parking charge on top of an already steep entry fee really took the biscuit. I won't be back again anytime soon.

In short: No water at finish. Poor marshalls. Wrong medal. Long queues for toilets.

In full: The car park, even at a fee, was very handy for the start. Sadly the whole thing was spoilt by cars and white vans determined to push through runners on the sections with no pavement. The white van who was dawdling alongside us between miles 1 and 4 should have been dealt with firmly by police but there weren't any. I definitely didn't feel safe. Agree that just a bag at the end with one advert leaflet won't do, but medal was very smart. No problem with water on route, thank goodness.

In short: Some very silly mistakes
In full: I simply cannot believe that there wasn't any water at the finish. This is inexcusable when you have a very good idea of the number of participants. For the entry fee you would expect a much higher level of professionalism. As stated previously, perhaps change 'goody bag' to just 'bag' next year. I will do it again because it is my local event. Fingers crossed next year is better!

In short: Another year and another potentially excellent event spoilt by easy to fix niggles.
In full: I have run this event several times and am dissapointed it never quite fixes the same problems that come up year after year.

I personally didn't suffer from the lack of water - there was plenty when I got back, but I don't like the finish - doing a 90 degree left turn through a narrowish gate while dodging a mixture of spectators and other runners clogging it up is not a great finish - in the past it finished back at the council offices and that meant the route came down the High Street - much better in my opinion.

I think the £3 parking fee was another issue that people have mentioned - my understanding is that was put in because the Council (unlike previous years) chose to charge around £1,000 to use the field for 3 hours - now there's charity!!!!

Still, for all those faults, living locally I am loyal to the event and will be back - maybe it can grow back to the 1,500+ runners it had in 2008 (now that was a really disasterous year and the numbers have steadily fallen since).

In short: Very expensive for an empty bag and medal
In full: I did this race in 2002 and the atmosphere was great, about 2000 runners. Wind the clock forward 10yrs. Very expensive, very dull and £3 to park in the Council car park! Hope some of that goes to the charity. At the finish I was given a medal and an empty nylon gym bag from Virgin active. Contained a bottle of water. Cheers.
On the plus side it is a fast course, conditions were great and I beat my PB by 5mins

In short: Weird lack of atmosphere, but a nice run out....
In full: First time runner of this event, the start seemed friendly enough, apart from the announcer giving a long spiel about not wearing Ipods.
Water stops on the way round seemed well organised, although could have been in smaller bottles, was pleased to get the energy drink at mile 9 or 10.
Last 3 miles were a bit of a drag, I was disappointed to not run down the high street, but down the back behind tesco.
Goody bag was a complete waste of time - all mine had in was a trial for a Virgin gym in Gloucester (I live in Stockport, not much use!). For £26 I was expecting a T shirt, but in fairness it wasn't promised.
Lots of people were disappointed about the lack of water at the end, I was more amused by the announcer still banging on about people wearing Ipods!
All in all, bit pricey, atmosphere not as good as some others, but I'd probably do it again.
