In short: The first half was brill! ( 21 Km (13 miles) in 1.50) then at 21 miles 3.03 ... then it happened not THE WALL ...I walked the hill and then suffered from agonising cramp over the last 5 miles ... I finished in 4.20
In full: and despite all that pain --- I really enjoyed it

So for those of you who would like to transfer your sponsorship pledges please use one of the bank accounts below ( the Austrian one for Euros ,.. the English one for pounds) .. just put "Shamrock Marathon" in the title/concept

Any amount large or small goes a long way out there in Nepal - THANK YOU

The Race is very well organised by a dedeicated smal team from Menter Mon

In short: Friendly, helpful people in a lovely rural setting -champion!
In full: Hope Colin Jackson starts run again next year, (luvly man!), as I intend to repeat this year's visit, (especially after knocking over 3 mins off my previous PB!). A big well done and thank you to all the helpful and cheery marshalls and helpers who contributed greatly to a memorable day.

In short: Hilly and windy - pure masochism
In full: I togged myself up in longs, gloves and a polyprop vest with a cotton vest on top. When I saw nearly everyone else was in shorts and singlets I switched my protective gear for the same 4 oz combo as the majority. What an error! Hammered by 30 mph winds, I huddled behind other runners all the way round. It's amazing how much heat they give off. What with the wind and the hills, it was an ordeal but I look back on the race with pleasure thanks to the friendliness of the Welsh villagers and the super-efficiency of the race organisers, not to mention the free bananas at the end.

In short: Great Race - Well organised
In full: Some great scenery, particularly on the first half of the course. Well organised with plenty of drinks stations. The volunteers were really encouraging (many thanks to all of them) and the general public were really supportive. Good friendly atmosphere amongst the runners. The only downside was that wind!!!

In short: Slick organisation, very friendly and spectator support brilliant.
In full: Organisation very slick and helpful. From a competitors point of view, the most friendly bunch of runners I have come across. Spectator support was brilliant and many thanks to the family that let me use their loo and gave me a glass of water as I returned to the race. Where else would that happen? The course was pretty punishing and I am used to training on hilly terrain (it may just have been the day). Made the mistake of letting myself walk for short periods at mile 23 onwards but ran the last hill home. A bit more resolve and I would have run the 26.2 miles. Did feel at the end that I wanted to hang up my marathon boots forever but on reflection know I enjoy the challenge too much to do that. Not sure I would run this one again though.

In short: A lovely scenic marathon!
In full: Enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would! Fantastic scenery over the first half compared to the 2nd half, but by that time I wasn't that bothered about sight-seeing and just wanted to get to the end. Lots of water stations with isotonic drink and the race was generally well-marshalled and organised. Lots of friendly support. AND you get to meet Colin Jackson. What more can I say!

In short: Amazing, can't believe the organisation and facilities for a small event
In full: When I arrived and saw the weather I wondered why I'd entered, but the rain stopped and for the first 18 miles I was impressed with my time. Unfortunately the battle with the windy conditions took its toll and I slowed down which stopped me setting a PB. I did however finish 2nd in my catagory but did not realize until I was back home and so missed out on my trophy!!
