In short: A magnificent race with wonderful scenery. The run into the lake makes it even more fun.

In short: Very enjoyable race in beautiful location
In full: I loved everything about this race from the procession through the village, the bagpiper, the community feel, the stunning route and the cake at the end. There was a good mix of all running abilities and lots of spectators on route (who were most likely just out for a walk) lending their support.
The National Trust did a fab job of organising the event especially considering they had never organised it before, they could teach some professional race organisers a thing or two. Hope they carry on orgainsing the Gallop for years to come.

In short: Glorious!
In full: A perfect 10k trail run. Smooth, unflustered organisation, great event area to keep supporters entertained, nice memento and a beautiful, if challenging course! Parade through the village before setting off over mixed tarmac, trail, shale, rock and even a section of lake! Great community feel to the whole event and excellent value kids races. Big thankyou to all involved.

In short: A terrific trail
In full: I always perform better when I'm led out by the sound of bagpipes. I also perform better when striding across beautifull scenery with a very friendly field of runners. Really well organised as well. Water dash was a bit early, 4km of wet feet weighed me down, but it was my choice to go for it! Definitely come back next year. One word for newcomers though: undualting!

In full: Loved this race when it was last run in 2009, so very pleased it was back again this year. Loved the new course with road section removed. Lovely welcoming atmosphere, and plenty to do at the start/finish area and the marshalls around the course were brilliant. Thank you National Trust for bringing this race back better than ever.

In short: Fantastic to be back
In full: Was really pleased when the National Trust re-launched this race and it seemed to run like they had organised it for years. Much better course with road section removed. Much better finish with things for all ages to do. Lovely atmosphere. Plenty and friendly marshalls and it really didn't seem to matter if you were fast or slow.Great to get cake at the end. I hope this run continues for many years yet as it is defo one of my favorites.
