In short: A much improved race from an already exellent first year. In full: This is was my second outing at this race and it was great to see it improve from an already great first year. The new race HQ was perfect and the 300 strong field was about right for a mid week race.
I took 3 seconds off last years time. Given the wind on the day I was fairly happy with that.
I'll be back next year. Date of review: July 3, 2012

In short: A great local 10k. In full: First time at this event having missed last year due to work commitments. The event is just the right size with a 300 runner limit. I thought the organisation was first class and the marshals very encouraging and vocal. A quick course despite the windy conditions. Lots of local club runners but still beginner friendly. A bottle of beer at the finish was nice, however I'm not sure this was appreciated by everyone. I'll be back next year for sure. Date of review: June 23, 2012

In short: Excellent race. One not to be missed! In full: This was the first time I'd done this race and I wasn't disappointed. Despite the horrendously windy conditions, I finally did a sub-60 10k!! Because the ground was so wet from recent rain, parking on the grounds wasn't available but there was more than enough safe road parking for all. Everyone gathered in the pavillion, where there are good toilets and showers. There's a short walk to the start, which gives you a chance to warm up. There were starting areas depending on your anticipated finishing time, which helped stop a lot of the bottlenecking you usually get at races. Marshaling was great and the route was fairly quiet, with most motorists being respectful. Local support was good with a great atmosphere at the finish. Can't think of a single negative! I'll be back next year!! Date of review: June 23, 2012

In short: Best memento ever In full: Bit congested at the start but a nice level course that takes in a large oval. Very accurately measured as well according to my Garmin. Pretty fast field. Your reward for finishing was a bottle of boutique micro-brewery beer, an opener and a bag of crisps! Real ale outside bar at the clubhouse and a sausage cob merchant next to it. So everyone hung around at end and it was very social. Date of review: June 23, 2012

In short: Good Value and well organised In full: A well organised race, at a good price. A local beer as a memento / post race recovery drink (!) and no unneccessary trinkets (cheep tees / medals) to bump the cost. For me the burger was not really an added benefit - I ate it (I'd eat anything after a race!) but I didn't think it was nice. Would have preferred a nice bowl of pasta and sauce! The course was accurately marked, free of traffic, and is pretty flat. Information was clear, the start was prompt, and it all ran smoothly. Although it's unfair to comment on the weather, being outside of the control of the organisers, cool drizzle is ideal for a fast 10k (if not for queueing for a burger)! Date of review: July 5, 2011

In short: Loved it, could put a few established races to shame with their really well organised inaugural race from Grantham RC. Good course and no naff t shirt, a burger and a locally brewed beer specially commissioned for this race. I'll be back next year. Date of review: June 19, 2011

In short: Well organised and challenging In full: Very impressed and surprised that this was the inaugural race. Went very smoothly, especially when considering it was run on open roads. I've run faster courses but the undulations made it a challenging race that is fun to run. Just wish it was'nt on a Friday night as the rush from work meant I was pretty knackered before I arrived! Maybe a Saturday or Sunday evening would be better for someone like me? Enjoyed the free beer though and I'll certainly look forward to doing it again. Date of review: June 19, 2011
