In short: Very welcoming for a complete novice.
In full: Lovely organisers, welcoming people, many thanks to the people who explained what on earth I was supposed to be doing (especially the competitor who gave me a last minute tutorial at the start line!). Got rather lost and wet, had a great time, would definitely do it again.
