In short: Free massage from Burton Physio Clinic was the highlight
In full: General organisation was good but could have done with water stations and mile markers

In short: Good course, fun race, well organised
In full: I have to disagree with some of the comments listed below. I agree that a water point was needed at half way point and kilometre markers would have been useful. However the course was good with a mixture of road and off road running, the marshalls were well placed and helpful. I was pleased with my goody bag- water, original source, lucozade and medal- I feel this is a decent bag for a 10k race. The organisers were friendly and very helpful. I will definately be running again!

In short: This is what you get when non running club organises a race.
In full: I think this has got to be one of the worse organised races ever. But typical when a non running club tries to ordanise a race, especially one that is not from the local area. Leave it to the running clubs their is enough races in Burton without for profit event management companies weighing in.

In short: Not bad 1st effort
In full: I agree with all the previous comments, needed kilometre markers, the lack of these could have been very off putting for a first time runner as no idea how far you had run,at least one water station needed, some of the stewards were more interested in catching the sun rather than directing the runners and watching for potential problems, ie with drivers that were inconsiderate to runners running in the road. Second part of the race much more enjoyable although a few nasty twists and turns.

However with a few tweeks not a bad sunday morning out, could be tempted to run again.

In short: An enjoyable run, shame there were no distance markers and it appeared there were not enough goody bags for some of the later finishers.

In short: new event shortcomings and poor value
In full: Echo views about water station and distance markers. Expensive for what it was. Loos provided, presumably hired, but superb perminant public facilities on site. Better use could have been made of route to eliminate need to block roads. This could have reduced cost and encouraged more to enter and support a good cause.

In short: Generally flat course but with some tight turns
In full: I think I am correct in stating this is the first time this event has been run and it does show . Different websites (runnersworld and runbritain) showing different start times ,Phone numbers on above websites either constantly engaged or constantly unanswered .No mileage/kilometre markings but chip timing ???? ( Surely mileage markers are more important ) . Bollards and other street furniture not removed just after the start making for bottle necks and runners taking evasive action . The second half of the course needed more marshalls at the sharp path turns .On the plus side the course was well signed , the t shirt at the end was good quality ,and the free massage was great.
Overall with a few tweaks this could become a truly great race that I would be happy to run again

In full: Advertised as a fast, flat course, but instead had a long significant hill near the start. No distance markers and no water stations - not even at the finish (but there was a small bottle of water in the limited goody bag). More marshalls would have been helpful as some car drivers were very inconsiderate. Also organisers had said race packs would be posted to pre registered entrants in advance - then changed it to collect on the day. However excellent free massage at the end, chip timing, and pleasant scenery.

In short: A good effort for the 1st year of the race - But need km distance markers & water station
In full: Enjoyable race but I think I was lucky in choosing to carry a water bottle whilst running because many people felt slightly aggrieved that there was no water station. I'm sure the organisers will take note for next year.
