In short: If you're looking for a challenge In full: Very well run event with great aid stations and general support, melon at mile 43 was a gift from heaven!
If you're looking for a long gentle jog in the countryside with some amazing views in the South of England you'll be in for a painful shock. If you are looking for a challenge which will give you lots of highs and lows you'll have a great time. Just one piece of advice, the course is well marked but it's best to take a proper map with the route marked out on it. I'll be back for more next year, maybe even the 100. In short: The best organised event I've ever seen & a great 50 for (tough!) first timers In full: This was my first ultra and the organisation and great pre-race communication made it non-intimidating to enter and a fantastic experience on the day. I would not deceive anyone - this is a challenging course! So if you were looking for the easiest race over the distance, this would not be it. But the scenery is great, the crowd was great and the support from the marshals was without fault! Date of review: August 17, 2011
