In short: A true multi-terrain race: track, tarmac, trail, road, pavement, stairs.....good scenery, no PB potential.......£15, no goody bag, no medal In full: Pros: scenic route, challenging course, start and finish on track, low key / small numbers.
Cons: poor waymarks / potential for wrong turns, no km markers, not chip timed, too expensive by contemporary race standards given no goody bag, no medal, no grub at the finish. Come on, not even one jelly baby? Date of review: August 3, 2014
In short: Great course, friendly low key event/directions on the course let it down In full: A lot of effort had clearly been done to arrange this race, great course, however confusing arrows at one part of the course, (showing a left hand turn in the wrong place and no marshal) meant that a lot of runners went the wrong way. Shame as could have been a great race. Date of review: August 5, 2013
In short: Low key, friendly - but not flat as described. In full: Thank you Co Op & Stockport Harriers for organising this race. Not a local race for us - we are from Berkshire & were visiting friends in Macclesfield. Low key, well organised & no frills. The hill coming back into the park was most unwelcome! In full: Only my second race, the first being Great Manchester Run so almost opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of number of entries and organisation. Didn't get any confirmation of on-line entry and email query didn't get a reply. Race number was late arriving and e-mail query didn't get a reply. Directions to parking were vague. So pleasantly suprised when everything else went off without a hitch. Cheap t-shirt and a bottle of water at finish. Date of review: August 21, 2011
