In short: great race hot day In full: Started on time , with a mile run along the canal bank which got you ready for the first climb which is longest on the run . you are mainly running on old train track for the first 23 miles to Ashbourne then its mixture of road and trail to Derby . the route markings where first class, never on the route did I not know the route. Well done!! only downside being a vegge sausage rolls, choclate bars and sweets on such a hot day where not very appealing , but it must be hard to trying to please everyone. Dried fruit is very good for giving extra energy . Date of review: August 31, 2012

In short: Well organised, welcoming and a sense of achievement at the end In full: The route was very well marked with not much scope to get lost. The route itself covered some beautiful Peak District scenery and was largely off road and traffic free (old railways lines). The check points every 10 miles were welcomed, along with the drinks and food available at each. Rory Coleman gave some good advice at the beginning of the event and was there to greet each finisher in Derby. Well worth it: and adventure within a day! Date of review: August 25, 2012

In short: Brilliant event from Rory and Jen In full: Would agree with the other comment about being led into a false sense of security surrounding the fact that this was going to be 12 miles up and 28 down ish. Well this was one myth to put to bed after having completed it and it would be fairly safe to safe to say that this could be classed as a hilly to undulating run at least. Fantastic all the same and my thanks go out to Rory Coleman and Jen Salter for putting on a brilliant event that I for one will be back again next year. Date of review: August 22, 2011

In short: From the glory of the Peak District to the centre of Derby in one epic day out In full: Great race and really well organised. Considering the length of the course they'd marked it really well. Great atmosphere and good running.

In short: Tough course and warm in the August heat. Thanks to Rory and Jen In full: If you are thinking of doing this next year, don't be fooled by the up for 10m down for 30m...it's not. However, if you don;t rely on that this is one to just take your time on and enjoy the surroundings. The Tissington Train is long and (sorry to say) rather dull. But the organisation was excellent. I'll be trying some of the other ULTRArace events next year. Date of review: August 22, 2011
