In short: A great race, well organised with excellent marshaling along the way.
In full: For a first time event, it was well organised. A run with a good mixture of terrains and challenging hill just after your mile warm up.
Back at the finish, you were given a medal and a choice of chocolate bar. Showers were available but, could help if there was warm water, not the cold water I had.
I never saw the presentation or any mention of it. I believe there was also refreshments but again never saw those.
On the whole this was a good race and I hope to see it on the calender again next year maybe with better turnout.

In short: First running and well worth a second go
In full: First running of this event and it was obvious the organisation was well thought out.

The route had one climb which then enabled good running on a mixture of surfaces. Plenty of cheerful marshalls made directions and support good.

A great race to end your bank holiday on.

In full: I'm someone who does many races throughout the calendar year and travel a fair way to do the race. I think for a first event this was an excellent start. I didn't run it expecting a PB, after all it wasn't meant be that kind of race. Great friendly welcome, great weather and a challenging but fair course with great views. In short I loved it and I'm sure it will grow over the coming years.

In short: A very good effort by Devizes Running Club for the first running of this event.
In full: I have put maybe against would I do it again because I found the race very hard for my age.
For younger, fitter runners it should be a very good challenge. The marshalls were very friendly and encouraging and the scenery was great although because of the route you often had to look at the ground instead of what was around you.
The very steep hill and the couple of stiles makes a normal PB pretty impossible although as there are not many 7 mile runs I suppose this might be the only one most people do.
There was a bit of a problem with parking as some of us followed the car park sign into the Police Station car park which was OK until you tried to get out and there was a barrier blocking the way.
I was disappointed to come first in the over 60 vets and not receive an award. It would be nice to think this could be changed in future.
If it is run again next year I hope there is a bigger entry but that could cause a problem at the stiles.
