In short: Very well organised, but tough course In full: I thought I would do this race to re-acquaint myself with running off road. I didn't expect i to be quite as tough(and muddy) as it was, but the organisation was superb. Sufficient toilets, including a disabled toilet, baggage facilities with a tear-off portion of the running number to use for marking your bag,and chip timing with a computer at the end where you could print off your individual result immediately after the finish.
The course was well-marked without being over-marked and there were sufficient and friendly marshalls.
Thankyou KellyStore fun raisers - I will be back! Date of review: September 29, 2013
In short: tough but very enjoyable In full: the race takes place i the picturesque Joydens Wood so hilly and tough underfoot in places. Well organised, well supported by the marshalls, entertainment for the kids, fun warm up, nice medal, chip timimg and all in aid of a fantastic local charity. top event :) Date of review: September 29, 2013
In short: Well organised, friendly and a good challenging course In full: For such a small event this was amazingly well organised - secure bag storage, enough toilets, good catering, excellent marshalling. Many larger event organisers could learn plenty from this. The course is definitely not going to get you a PB, it's hilly, muddy in places and plenty of tree roots to fall over. Lots of fun and I would do it again next weekend if I could. See you next year. Date of review: September 16, 2012
In short: nice challenging run In full: I enjoyed this run, and other than a few teething problems it had good organisation. Course is quite challenging - both the terrain and the navigation round the woods. But the atmosphere was good and I'd make the effort to return next year. Date of review: September 18, 2011
In short: Quite a challenging course through beautiful scenery. In full: Inaugural race -which showed a bit with a delayed start & a couple of places where the signs were a little ambiguous. I had to help direct some runners who semmed to have got very lost. Very friendly. This is quite a challenging course, with virtually no flat bits & some quite gruelling hills (certainly for someone of my age - 62) & it is a genuine trail course with single track paths through forest with tree roots, etc as well as a few muddy bits. It could be a lot muddier if there had been more rain, I reckon. At my age,I'm trying to widen my experience by doing as many different races as I can - but I'd certainly think about doing this one again. Date of review: September 18, 2011
