In short: Challenging but very friendly and well organised. In full: Really enjoyed the race this year. The course is pretty challenging, I probably started a little fast, and really felt the undulations in the final three miles. Leigh was amazing, so many people out supporting, and unofficial water stations (which were great). Plenty of water on the way round generally though, it was just quite a hot day. I think I was one of the last people to go through Lower Haysden lane. It was obviously distressing to see, but the runner was being well looked after. The marshalls there and throughout were very supportive and helpful. I travelled down from Bristol for this race, and will definitely put it in my diary for next year. The goody bag was excellent, everyone who has seen the medal thinks its one of the best theyve seen. The t-shirt will see a lot of use, and the clif bar was exactly what I needed after the race. One minor point is that I'd have preferred the race numbers to have been sent out before hand, and the goody bag to be handed out at the end (just because then you dont need to store it anywhere).
In short: Great facilities and organisation really nice friendly event In full: Fifth time I've done this event and as usual all very impressive. I've done lots of other events and don't think I've found any with better facilities and organisation. Great course although I think the hills get a little steeper each year. An unfortunate incident when a runner suffered a cardiac arrest but marshals were on the scene within seconds and paramedics in less than 3 minutes which is very reassuring and thanks to them and several runners who stopped to help he is reported to be making a good recovery. Will be back again next year. Date of review: October 9, 2015
In short: Friendly, pretty, well-organised race on an undulating course. In full: Positives: organisation; race T- shirt given out before the start so lots of people wore it for the event; good parking; comfy loos in W.Kent College (go up to the third floor!) Negatives: none ... But I prefer a less time being talked to over the PA system before the start. Date of review: October 9, 2015
In short: Undulating - Yes ! Do it again - yes !! In full: This was my first half marathon and didn't know what to expect, having only done 10ks in the past. I suppose the weather was a bonus, but this race was wonderful. Everyone I spoke to on the way round were friendly, the locals in the village were great - I even managed a High 5 ! PB at 2:01 even with hills so well happy. Organisation was very good. Thought this might be my one and only half - but TONBRIDGE you have made me want to do more. Thank you :-) Date of review: October 6, 2015
In short: Great half Marathon In full: I just wanted to say how much enjoyed the race. it is my 5th Tonbridge half marathon (yes did them all from the first) but wasn’t going to be able to run it as got a hip injury last week, but this morning I thought I have done them This is my 5th Tonbridge half marathon (yes did them all from the first) thought I but wasn’t going to be able to run it due to injury but this morning decided to run it and not to miss it. The organisation was flawless, the t-shirt a nice touch and the crowd support at Leigh village was just amazing, everybody was out for us. The church bells and the bands were great. I also wanted to mention the volunteers out there a bit thank you to them, they are so friendly. It was great the marshals dealt with the emergency too. Well done to everybody who organised it, shall be back net year, hopefully with no injury. Date of review: October 5, 2015
