In short: Great route but too hot this year for me.
In full: I was back for the third year in a row. Personally the worst race for me but this was due to the weather, still love the route. The only gripes are the delayed start and the estimated time markers at the start line being spaced too close together. Quite a lot of sub 60 or 55 runners seemed to be queuing outside the barriers as they didn't want to start behind the slower runners. Just thought of something else, could we please have 2 lanes open as far as the Saints as it was quite dangerous passing. People were dodging outside the cones into the traffic.Once again I loved the bagpipes, poor bloke in that heat. Can we have the old boy who was hanging off the banner near the end shouting words of encouragement back next year, he was just what we needed. Good organisation at the finishing line, the water was much appreciated. As my time has been getting worse each year I will be back next year for a personal best. My last as a non-veteran, scary thought. Keep up the good work.

In short: It was so warm
In full: Signed up for the 5K when I was fairly new to running. Glad on the day it was not the 10 is was so so warm. This race is great, really good turn out and lots of entertainment round the course. That last climb back into Sixfields was not so good especially with the heat. No stalls selling drinks or food which was surprising only ice-cream van, take not for next year organisers. Great race for PB potential and I will defo be back next year

In short: A fantastic race in my home town
In full: Took part in this race in its inaugural year (2009)and am sooo glad i did it again this year. Wonderful atmosphere all the way round and the weather was glorious (although a bit on thwe 'warm' side!). Can recommend it to runner's of all levels, as it appeals to elite and newbies alike.
It's re-ignited my running bug!

In short: My first race and I loved it! I couldn't have hoped for a better introduction to event running.
In full: I was very nervous about my first ever running event, but the parking was good, the facilities fine, the weather turned a blinder, and it all went smoothly. Well run bag storage, and I loved the fact there was a 400m track to warm up on with no restrictions (and so did the kids who had a great time beating Daddy on a racetrack).
I was slightly confused at the start, but I think that was my inexperience rather than organisation problems. It all seemed obvious in retrospect. I just mingled in at the back and found myself trapped with the really slow runners to start. Even that had it's bright side: there's nothing better for newbie nerves than flying past everyone with ease. I felt like a real runner.
I have to say I loved the weather, but maybe a little cooler next time would help with progress. A lot of people were suffering, and going slowly in front of me.
My only gripe is with the kid's races. My ten year old son did the 2k, and he really wanted to know his time and his position, but they didn't use chip timing. I had to work it out from the times of the photos I'd taken. Is this something to do with not encouraging competition between children? If so, it's a really misplaced concern at an event all about racing!
Overall, I loved the whole day and I can only hope that my next event goes anywhere near this well. It's going to have a special place in my memory, and my son is already showing off his medal at school.

In short: Good varied course with a great atmosphere
In full: This is a good course with a good mix of uphill & downhill & isn't overly busy so you cab gave your own running space. Would love to see a half marathon distance added soon
