In short: Lovely scenic 10k
In full: A well organised race just outside the Peak District. Nice route, part road/trail, with a bit of a killer footbridge to get over half way through! Would recommend.

In short: Good value and scenic
In full: Thoroughly enjoyable race. About 50/50 roads and canal towpath/woodland trail/fields. Flat and scenic, with friendly encouraging marshals. Bonus of free photos from Bryan Dale. Very warm today, so it was hard work but at least it was dry underfoot. Would be pretty muddy and slippery in wet weather. Will definitely be back next year.

In short: Lovely communtiy event
In full: Warm welcoming atmosphere. Nice course about 1/2 on country lanes and the rest on the canal towpath and across the fields. The 10k meets up with the 5k so it feels like everyone is taking part in the same race which is really nice. Bacon buttys and generously priced and delicious cakes from the WI available at the finish!

In short: First 10K.
In full: This is the first race I've ever run, so a little difficult to assess the whole thing.Everything seem to go very smoothly and the course I didn't find to difficult, but challenging.

Living locally, I had the benefit of running the course(most of it) the week prior, so was a little clued up on what to expect.

In short: Advertised as mostly cross country, I disagree but nice run all the same
In full: Flat course which I would say is mostly on roads with a bit along the canal and then a field. Apart from one bridge over the canal the rest of the course is fast and flat. Well organised start and finish area, with nice quality medals, including the date (I always like one with the date on). Not too many runners so was plenty of space on the course even along the narrow canal path. The 5k fun run looked one of the best courses I have seen too. Great to see so many kids and parents running together. Well organised parking with no cuing to get on or off the site.

In short: A great choice for my first race
In full: My first race and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The atmosphere was friendly and the scenery good, and all just a few miles down the road from home. Railway bridge, long sections where overtaking was difficult, queuing at styles, and being mixed in with the Fun Run at the end made it difficult to achieve a flattering time, but all added to the relaxed atmosphere.

In short: Friendly race that keeps you on your toes.
In full: First time doing the 10k and would definitely return. Great village feel; loved the scout refreshments stand and the Women's Institute cake stand.
The atmosphere and scenery made the muddy fields and queues over the stiles more manageable.
A few more loos and a water station would have improved an otherwise great race.
